The start of a new week. Let's see what this one has in store for us!

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores today. Breakfast was toast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is pork in black bean sauce with noodles and spring rolls.

    Tonight's jobs are:
    • walking the dog
    • weekly shop
I'm at the hospital this afternoon but mine is just a routine appointment. So should be in and out in less than half an hour. Gets me out of work for a few hours this afternoon. Might see if the grass is dry enough to cut this afternoon when I'm done there.

It was raining this morning. Glad I managed to get the grass cut yesterday, it looks likely to be raining again at the weekend. Got to get it cut at any opportunity available at this time of year.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores today. Breakfast was toast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is salmon with rice and vegetables.

No jobs to do tonight other than walking the dog. We are having a quiet night for what seems like the first time in ages.

I hope your OHs dad is recovering now. My sister’s husband’s parents aren’t too well and it’s an awful reminder that age gets to us all eventually.

He's still in hospital but not doing so well. They are struggling to get his oxygen levels back up.

Its insurance renewals month next month so it's been hectic getting renewals and quotes for pet insurance, home insurance, van insurance and breakdown cover.

So far I have sorted the pet and home insurance.

Home insurance renewal came in at £190 so I shopped around and found it cheaper then emailed our current provider to cancel the auto renew and low and behold our current provider can now do it for £135 so we will stick with them as it was cheaper than other online quotes.

The pet insurance renewal jumped in prices this year and was going to be £38 a month (from £24 a month last year) so I have cancelled the auto renew on this one and have taken our a policy with a different provider at £12 per month. The cover is slightly less and we would have to pay a slightly higher excess but is still a Lifetime policy and suits our needs.

Got the van tax to pay tomorrow, nothing I can do to reduce this one. The breakdown cover is a couple of quid less than last year so will renew that one.

Just waiting for the van insurance renewal to come now. I have done a check quote with a company we have used previously and it has come in a lot cheaper than they quoted last year so we know what the worst case scenario will be. Fingers crossed the renewal from our current insurers follows suit.

Friday's here. I'm looking forward to a weekend at home.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores. Breakfast was cereals, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is pizza.

No jobs to do tonight other than walking the dog. It's going to be a quiet night in with a few beers on the sofa watching a film.

A weekend at home this weekend.

The first load of washing is almost finished and ready to hang out on the line. Hoping to get a second load done a bit later on.

The dog has just had his first walk time for a coffee and breakfast now. Beans on toast this morning.

We need to go to the shops and the farm shop shortly.

Not much else planned for today. Might have a wander up to the pub this afternoon.

Doing a lamb curry in the slow cooker for dinner tonight.

Could get used to this weekend sunny weather. The breeze has made it perfect washing drying weather. Got two loads done and dry today.

We have been out and about with the dog today. He's shattered now. Had a walk at a nature reserve that waste site of the uks first onshore oil extraction. That was interesting.

Then we went to do some window shopping at a big motorhome dealership in Newark. Saw some beautiful vans but short of a lottery win we won't be buying. Had a free coffee though 🤣🤣🤣

On the way home we called in at the pub up the road. Give them their dues they were very busy, forgot it was mother's day!, but they squeezed us in even though we only wanted a couple of drinks.

There were a couple of nice scooters out front.

We are back home now. Dinner is prepped for later , roast chicken tonight.
