    Friday at last.

We had some very heavy downpours last night which cooled the air a little. Back to warm and muggy again this morning though.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores today. Breakfast was cereals, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is southern fried chicken thighs with jacket potato and coleslaw.

No jobs to do tonight other than walking the dog. We are off out in the van so we will get home grab a quick shower and head off. We are only about an hour away from home this time so we should be pitched up and in the pub for a few drinks in the beer garden by 8pm.

We are heading to a village and pub that we went past on the boat on the river so many times but there was nowhere to stop with the river being very tidal at this location. It will be nice to finally get to visit. We will be staying on the campsite over the road from the pub and there is miles and miles of what looks to be excellent dog walking to be explored.

Should be a nice weekend and hopefully a lot less manic than the last couple!

This evening brought back some happy boating memories while we say enjoying a few beers.

Memories of times when not everything went to plan but we survived to tell the tale 🤣🤣🤣

Good morning all. Looks set to be another lovely sunny day.

We are planning lots of dog walks today.

Will have some coffee and breakfast first though. Bacon and scrambled eggs this morning.

Need to call into reception and pay our balance as well. They were closed when we arrived last night. Unexpectedly this is a really nice site. 👌

Think we will pop to the pub again later and then this evening the other half is cooking alfresco for us. One of his one pot wonders he perfected in France last year 😀

It is safe to say we are both very impressed with where we stayed this weekend. We will definitely go back again.

We found a lovely walk yesterday with some lovely views of the Trent. We did a 3 hour walk.

With the walk done we were ready for a drink and chatted away the afternoon with the locals in the pub.

After dinner on the van we were treated to a nice sunset over the river.

This morning we had a lazy few coffee's and some toast before taking the dog for a little walk and packing up ready for home.

Traffic was light so it didn't take long to get back. The van is now tucked away in the drive, other half has nipped to the shops and I have been preparing dinner and sorting out the washing. First load is on the line and a load of bedding is on now.

Will take the dog for a good long walk when the other half gets back from the shops.

We are considering a rotisserie chicken on the bbq for dinner but that depends on the weather. It will go in the oven if not.

Back to work again. Think the dog will be glad to go to work for a rest. He was shattered yesterday, he really wasn't interested in going for the long walk we took him on!

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores today. Breakfast was a bacon and egg sandwich to use up some leftovers from the weekend, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is the legs from last night's roast chicken reheated and served with firecracker rice, corn on the cob and coleslaw.

    Tonight's jobs are:
    • walking the dog
    • weekly shop
I ordered the Mangalitza bacon, sausage and gammon last night which we will have at Christmas. If we leave it until nearer the time to order then they never have what we want in stock so we have got in there early this year to make sure we get what we want. Have also ordered some Wagyu shin and Wagyu tail while I was at it. Not had that for ages. Definitely a Wagyu curry this weekend.

£380 sent to the credit card today. That takes the balance under £6k. The official card free date is next November, but I am going to see if we can clear that sooner if we can do so comfortably.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores today. Breakfast was toast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work, still salad boxes for me and tonight's dinner is roast pork in black bean sauce with egg noodles and vegetable spring roll.

No jobs to do tonight other than walking the dog. We are going to have a chilled our evening. Starting to forget what they are!
