Pay day today which makes it savings shuffle day. £100 sent to the Premium Bonds, £200 sent to the savings account and £50 sent to the ISA.

We somehow managed an underspend this month so I have sent an extra £77 to the credit card to round that down to a round number.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores today. Breakfast was toast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is salmon with rice and vegetables.

    Tonight's jobs are:
    • walking the dog
    • picking up the dogs flea and worm treatment from the vets
    • cleaning the kitchen
I'm at the dentists this morning which I am not looking forward too.

I’ve never understood other people complaining about their house being too hot until this year having always lived in old houses that have never been upgraded to modern specifications. We are really struggling this year, its ability to keep in the heat is lovely for most of the year but not now. My wife has decided that we need to have an ac system fitted tbf it’s only what I have suggested to you and others but I just don’t want to spend the money tbh.

Hope everything goes ok at the dentist. Under £10k offsetting the savings against the debt - well done mate.

We have been contemplating getting air con fitted for a few years now. Our house gets terribly over heated in this weather and just doesn't release the heat to cool down.

Mind you we don't complain come winter when it is toasty warm and the gas bill is tiny 🤣🤣🤣

All was fine at the dentists. Got to go back in 3 months to check up on a gum issue at the back teeth.

Weigh in Wednesday wasn't as bad as it could have been. I have stayed the same weight which is a minor miracle given the amount of bbq we have had this week 🤣🤣🤣

Get an air con system fitted. You can afford it or will be able to very soon and it will make your home far more comfortable. We do seem to be getting more hot spells and there is a good reason that homes in hot countries frequently have them fitted.

In my opinion comfort is always worth paying for if you can and bear in mind that you are pretty young at the moment but many paople find the heat far more difficult to cope with as they get older.

We have hit some very heavy showers on the way onto work this morning. Made for some interesting driving conditions.

£405 overpayment sent to the mortgage this morning. Then it's the usual bills day as well. So a busy day for the current account today.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores today. Breakfast was toast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is chicken saag masala with wholegrain rice, vegetable samosa and onion bhaji.

    Tonight's jobs are:
    • walking the dog
    • load of washing
    • cleaning the bathrooms
    • vacuuming the house
    • plugging in the van and turning on the fridge. Better make sure the fridge has some beer in it as well.

    Friday at last.

We had some very heavy downpours last night which cooled the air a little. Back to warm and muggy again this morning though.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores today. Breakfast was cereals, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is southern fried chicken thighs with jacket potato and coleslaw.

No jobs to do tonight other than walking the dog. We are off out in the van so we will get home grab a quick shower and head off. We are only about an hour away from home this time so we should be pitched up and in the pub for a few drinks in the beer garden by 8pm.

We are heading to a village and pub that we went past on the boat on the river so many times but there was nowhere to stop with the river being very tidal at this location. It will be nice to finally get to visit. We will be staying on the campsite over the road from the pub and there is miles and miles of what looks to be excellent dog walking to be explored.

Should be a nice weekend and hopefully a lot less manic than the last couple!
