alt80 said:Hope the weather wasn’t too bad up there. Lovely part of the world but can be quite grim when the weather is bad.It was ok here yesterday but this morning it was !!!!!! horrendous. Those wheels look like something you’d fit to a Land Rover 90 for off roading, didn’t realise you did that in it?
It started raining over night so we didn't get out much this morning. Dog has enjoyed a lazy day today.
The van most certainly isn't a great off road vehicle. It gets stuck at the first sign of wet grass. Just hoping the nobbly tyres give it a bit better traction so it doesn't get stuck as often.1 -
Apparently meant to be getting a bit warmer this week, might finally get dinner out in the garden and the heating off for the first time since we moved here ha.
I don't think my !!!!!! brain was engaged when I wrote that tbh those tyres confused me until I remembered you park the thing on grass when you go to these caravan parks or whatever they are sometimes.1 -

Our heating was off for a couple of weeks but we have had to put it back on again. In fact it's on now. Dropped chilly here again. Looks like it might rain again as well.1 -
Hope you get a few good nights away next weekend. North Yorkshire is lovely - we are going on the boat this coming month, looking forward to it but hoping the weather will have picked up.
Yeah, we just set ours and leave it going. The previous owner took all the fireplaces out, first time I've lived somewhere without a proper fire since I was a student. Thought I'd really miss it but I haven't, it's nice that the house maintains a steady temperature. In-laws think it's !!!!!! hilarious we find this a novelty ha.
Bit brighter here, did look like it was going to rain a bit earlier but not now.0 -
I love Castletown. We’ve never taken the van but often head there for the afternoon.January spends - £587.581

Back to work today. Only four more sleeps until we are back out in the van again though.
We got the van cleaned out and the water tank refilled yesterday so we can make a quick getaway on Friday night. The clean bedding and towels are back on. Just got the floor mats drying in the spare bathroom. Will stick them back on tonight and then we just need to add clothes and food later in the week.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores today. Breakfast was toast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work, still salad boxes for me and dinner tonight is spag bol and garlic bread.
Tonight's jobs are:- walking the dog
- weekly shop
- load of washing

A lovely dry sunny start to the day. Makes getting up and about so much easier. Unfortunately I have woken up with a cracking sore throat this morning.

The savings account is looking a bit less healthy after buying the wheels but it will soon top up again and at least we didn't have to borrow anything to buy them which would have only been a dream a few years ago.
We had a small £65 underspend this month which considering the expensive month it has been with insurances, MOT, servicing etc. isn't too bad at all plus we didn't need to use anything from savings to cover these costs either.
I would say I'm looking forward too a cheaper month in May but with two bank holidays that seems unlikely!

Get well soon.
Your savings will soon be topped up again - you're 100% in a different position now. Suspect you're similar to me in that you're looking forward to being credit card free and able to just save up for things you want to buy rather than juggling money around continually. I likely may take advantage of 0% offers in the future but only if fee free and make sense if my money could be working harder elsewhere.
Lovely weather today, suspect you're in the office but I'm taking advantage of it whilst we can; working in the garden ha.
