Matlock Bath looks pretty.  One of these days we must get up your way and explore these places.

    You're doing brilliantly, @RelievedSheff

A long time since we've been to Matlock Bath but it doesn't change ha. My son still goes on about having a fish pond too lol.

Surprised to not see more classic cars on your photo - it was drive it day today.
There were a few classic cars around but not too many. Plenty of bikers taking advantage of the sunshine.

I was out on my bike yesterday with a friend and there were also a lot of classic cars around.  We were in Dartmoor though not where you were.  The sun brings out everyone.

After a sunny weekend it was a bit of a disappointment to see the return of the rain this morning. A very dreary start to the day. The dog was not overly excited about the prospect of a walk this morning.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores today. Breakfast was toast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is chicken, bacon and mushroom pasta and garlic bread.

    Tonight's jobs are:
    • walking the dog
    • weekly shop
I'm going to see if we can park the van in the car park at work on Friday night. Assuming the new wheels are delivered this week that will mean that we can have a few drinks in our old local pub and then get the van to the other half's work early on Saturday to change the wheels over.

Love it there. Funnily enough we were talking about what good value the fish and chips are there and said we need another visit.

We didn't end up at the usual chippy we use (Tuckers) it was packed with nowhere to sit down so we went to another one up the road which was equally as nice.

A dry sunny start to the day today. It was a lovely walk this morning, still chilly though.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores today. Breakfast was toast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is hot and spicy chicken wings with BBQ rice, corn on the cob and coleslaw.

    Tonight's jobs are:
    • walking the dog

Another dry start to the day but there was a cold biting wind this morning making it feel very cold.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores today. Breakfast was Weetabix, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is minted lamb steaks with garlic rice and vegetables.

    Tonight's jobs are:
    • walking the dog
    • cleaning the kitchen
    • weigh in Wednesday
We got our energy bill yesterday and it highlighted that we could save an extra £35 a year by switching to a different fixed rate tariff so I sent in the request to swap fixed rates yesterday. It's only £35 but I would rather it was in my pocket than theirs. The standing charges are the same and the gas unit price is the same as our current fix just the electric unit price is 1.5p a unit cheaper. The fix we are on has no exit fees so it made sense to switch. Not cost anything other than the time to send an email.

Only a half pound loss last week but it is a loss none the less.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores today. Breakfast was Weetabix, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is salmon wellington and vegetables.

    Tonight's jobs are:
    • walking the dog
    • load of washing
    • cleaning the bathrooms
    • vacuuming the house
    • must remember to plugin the van and turn on the fridge
Hopefully the new wheels and tyres will be dispatched today. Cutting it a bit fine to get them in time to fit them on Saturday morning now!

Best made plans and all that. The wheels for the van now won't be delivered this week which throws our weekend plans about. Also means that we have to mess about one day next week after work which isn't ideal. I have let the company know that I am not best pleased. Their website boasts how they carry all listed items in stock and dispatch in 1-3 working days. We are now on working day 4 after I ordered them on Saturday and they now say they are out of stock.

    Not best pleased.

And to top it off we have just had a fire drill at work in the pouring rain. Why choose this time of year?
