I assume you have debit and credit cards which don't charge for overseas use.  If not suggest you sort that out now as can take a little while to come through.

If possible it's best to have both Visa and Mastercard as some petrol stations seem to prefer one over the other for some reason!  We use very little cash when we're in France, most of it goes on the credit card and gets paid once we get back home.  It's really only things like the bakers or stopping for a beer or coffee you need cash for.

Our current account had recently been changed to one with no charges for overseas use so we are fine for that side.

We are taking a bit of cash but not much. We rarely use cash here so not expecting it to be any different over there.

    Friday at last.

We have had a lie in this morning. The other half has a hospital appointment this morning. He is in there now so we should be at work in about an hour or so.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was toast, we have both taken our packed lunch to work and dinner tonight is goat burgers with chips, onion rings and corn on the cob after a few beers and a film on the sofa.

Not much to do after work. We need to walk the dog, plug the van in and put a load of washing away.

Looking forward to a lazy morning tomorrow.

Well the weather sounds terrible already. Mind you it was forecast. Can hear the rain beating down on the roof of the house and it is forecast for much of the day.

We can have a lazy start to the day. Not got much planned this morning. We need to walk the dog and have breakfast. I'm doing a full English this morning.

This afternoon we are going to a pub about half an hour away where we are meeting up with a couple of sets of friends, a couple by boat and a couple by van.

We are very good friends with all of them but about 4 or 5 years ago they had a fallout amongst themselves which none of them know why now. They have not spoken since so we are hoping for a good outcome and a happy reunion. (The couple in the van are who we are heading to France with)

We hope it goes well. We have a table booked in the pub for 7pm for dinner either way 🤣🤣🤣

Hope it goes well and they bury the hatchet. If can’t have been that bad if they can’t remember what it was that caused the fallout 😆

The reunion was a roaring success.

Today we have all been for a boat ride up the river which was lovely. Just like old times.

We are now back home, the van  is sorted and back on the drive, a load of washing is in the machine and dinner is prepped.

The dog is shattered and has gone straight to bed.

It has been a brilliant weekend. I don't think we will be late going to bed tonight 🤣🤣🤣
