  • I've noticed it's now only just getting light when I'm waking up for work and having to put the bathroom light on. Soon be back to waking up in the dark ☹
Doesn't really feel like we have had a summer this year does it?
    Forgot to ask you yesterday.

    How is debt free life?
An utter relief! I am now concentrating on savings although I have 2 upcoming holidays which are impacting the amount I can save :)

    It is warm already today.

Breakfast and lunch are from stores today. Crumpets and packed lunches respectively. Dinner tonight is the BOGOF burger deal at the local pub. We still have some vouchers left so it will be an almost free meal. 2 burger meals and 4 pint will cost us £1.

Just got a load of washing to put away when we get home then showered and changed and off to the pub.

We will still have another couple of vouchers left for the pub which need using by the end of the year so we must not forget about them.

Just had an email from our energy provider and they are lowering our monthly payment by £7 per month to £113 per month.

Not a great deal but it is money in our pocket rather than theirs.

Our own calculations suggest that we should be paying less still with the credit that we have on our account which currently amounts to 2.5 months payments, but we are happy to leave it a bit higher in case we do get a cold winter.

Really bad news for our town today with Wilko falling into administration.

They have their head quarters and distribution centre here so are a major employer in the area.
  • My husband got made redundant from there in march so we saw this coming….luckily he got a better paid job at a customer service centre not far away 😁

BG suggested I reduce our monthly payment but I’m worried so I’m not for now

Our town will be hit by that news too - we have a big store so it's a decent employer locally. I see the stores are set to stay open for the moment - fingers crossed that something can be done to save them in the longer term.

Yes it’s sad news about Wilko. I’ve passed the big headquarters with the wind turbine on our way to various train shows with Dh. Like you say it’ll have a big impact to those nearby but also in every town. We’ve only had our Wilko a couple of years and we were really pleased to get it…now it looks as if it’ll close.
