I just about  managed to dodge the showers as I walked from the car to the office this morning - not at all convinced I'm going to repeat that stroke of luck on the way back later though!

Weather is meant to be getting better this week - hope it'll be alright for the festival. The Splendour festival here at the end of July was an absolute wash out. Couple of my staff went, one was home by the first afternoon but the other still managed to have a good time despite the weather.

Forecast looks terrible for the weekend in the Peak District!!

The Tramlines festival in Sheffield was a washout this year as well. I think most events have been this year.

Hopefully they will have a tractor or a 4x4 on site so they can tow us out when we get stuck!!

A dry start to the day today which is nice. It's always nicer doing the morning dog walk in the sunshine.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores. Breakfast was crumpets, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is spicy pork loin with rice and stir fried vegetables.

    Tonight's jobs are:
    • walking the dog
    • cleaning the kitchen
We have been considering what we are doing for our main holiday next year and have, we think, decided that we are going to head to the Outer Hebrides. We were going to put it off a little while what with the ferry debacle, but have decided we will just go for it. It is a trip that we both want to do, so we are going to do it while we can.

The ferry thing is usually "work roundable" - and definitely do bear in mind that if you encounter ANY disruption that isn't just down to weather conditions it is well worth sticking a claim in as they'll refund any additional mileage travelled and also offer compensation for various sorts of delay as well. We hadn't ever bothered claiming previously but going forwards we absolutely will be as the hassle they've caused the islanders over the last little while is unforgiveable!

Another sunny start to the day. It was a pleasant morning walk with the dog watching the mist rising off the fields.

Back to work again today though. Only today and tomorrow to go before a long weekend.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was toast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is fish pie and vegetables.

    Tonight's jobs are:
    • walking the dog
    • cleaning the kitchen
    • cleaning the bathrooms
    • vacuuming the house
Plenty to keep us busy tonight but then we can have a quieter evening tomorrow night.

Final day at work this week. It looks set to be a busy one as well.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was toast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is pasta bake and garlic bread.

We didn't get all of the jobs done at home last night so tonight's jobs are:
    • walking the dog
    • vacuuming the house
    • cleaning the bathrooms
    • load of washing
    • plugging in the van
With that little lot done we might just about have time to sit and watch a film. I'm banking on an early night tonight because it will be a busy few days coming up.
