    It's Friday at last.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores today. It was porridge for breakfast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is the lasagne I made last night. Just needs popping later.

No jobs to do tonight. I remembered to plug the van in yesterday so we will have cold beers tonight. Just need to fill it up with water before we head out but that won't take long. I can do that while the other half is having a shower.

We re not going far this weekend. Just a small five pitch campsite on the outskirts of Sheffield. Unfortunately the weather doesn't look great. We were hoping to get quite a bit of walking done but that might not happen. Luckily there are a couple of pubs in close proximity. It won't be raining in those b :D

Enjoy. I love the small campsites. I’m not much of a wild camper tbh and although we stay on some of the haven sites we always go out of season and mid week so it’s quieter. The small sites are my favourite 👍

We definitely prefer a "wild camp" or a car park stay. They tend to be much quieter than sites we have found.

We have stayed on a few more smaller sites this year due to where we have been and a lack of wild camp or car park options. We certainly prefer them over the larger commercial sites.

We are looking forward to heading over to France in six weeks and staying on the aires. That looks more like the sort of travelling we enjoy over here in the UK but with more reasonable charges.

It doesn’t rain inside pubs 🤣 We go to Greece in 6 weeks so we’ll be away the same time as you.

You will love the aires in France, it’s our preferred way of travelling and as you say much cheaper than here in the UK.  We are away this weekend in a car park at £4 per day (midnight to midnight) so costs us £12 for the weekend.  It’s the Park and Ride in Canterbury which makes a good stopover if you need somewhere before an early train or ferry.

Well the weather is pants today. Don't think it has stopped raining yet.

We had a late rise for us this morning. It was 8.30am before we scraped ourselves out of bed. The dog still didn't fancy getting out of bed 🤣🤣🤣

We have had a thoroughly lazy morning,  it was 11am before we ate breakfast.

We have taken advantage of a break in the weather to walk to the pub for a couple of lunchtime drinks. It's still raining but not as heavy.

We will have a wander back shortly and break out the monopoly board I think.

The camp site is surprisingly busy given the weather. Even some tenters braving the wet conditions. The forecast for later is even wetter than now!

I love the look of that tranquil wooded hillside site! It relaxes me just looking at it.

I hope the rain lets up for you or you meet some kindred spirits at the pub. Meanwhile monopoly is a very good idea (thank you - I'm now about to pack a card game for our break).

We were lucky with the rain and got back to the van without getting wet.

It's raining again now though and forecast to get worse as the day goes on. Not bothered now we are back to be fair.

It's is a lovely peaceful site. Really like this one. It has been a good find.

There is a pub stop up the road but they charge more than the site here and you don't get it refunded from your bill. Always seems busy though. Think we will stick with using here instead and walking to the pub.

We had some really heavy rain overnight last night. It gave the van a free wash 😀

This morning we managed to find a break in the rain to walk the dog. Then came back for breakfast which was a breakfast wrap.

We had a lazy morning before heading for home. We topped the van up with diesel on the way back at the cheapest place we have seen for a long time.

Now back home preparing dinner and chilling out while it rains outside.
