The dog is currently in the bath. That is the other half's job thankfully.
Dinner is prepared for later.
We had a very pleasant walk on the moors with the dog this morning. He really enjoyed it.
Now time to sit back and relax with a couple of beers watching a few films this afternoon. We are watching Gremlins first 🙃6 -
Looks brilliant. I like the film Gremlins. So cute until it all goes wrong 😱I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

Watched the Gremlins then Predator and now some classic 1980s tunes 🤣🤣🤣
Brilliant afternoon.5 -
It is my last day of work today for this year. It will be nice to put the computer away tonight and know it isn't coming out again for a couple of weeks.
It won't be a no spends day today. We have an Asda shopping delivery coming this morning.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores though. Breakfast was cereals, the other half has taken his packed lunch to work, I will have an eggy pork and cheese toasted sandwich for my lunch and dinner tonight is a pork chilli made with the left overs from last nights Sunday dinner.
Today's jobs include:- working from home
- load of washing
- vacuuming the house
- watering the house plants
- sorting and putting away home shopping delivery
- walking the dog x 2

My first day of my Christmas break. Plenty of jobs to do to keep myself busy though.
It won't be a no spends day as I'm going to the farm shop to get the Christmas fruit and vegetables. I was going to go later in the week but the other half suggested I go today with all the talk of food shortages in the news. Most of the fruit and veg in the farm shop is local so shouldn't be affected by the current border closures but we just don't know how busy the shop will be if the supermarkets run short. So better to be safe than sorry and I will go this morning and make sure I get everything we want.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores. Breakfast was crumpets, the other half has taken his packed lunch to work, my lunch will be some of last nights leftover chilli and dinner tonight is cajun salmon, tortellini and vegetables.
Jobs for today will be cleaning the kitchen, going to the farm shop, going to Pets at Home to get some dog treats for over Christmas (the dog loves a trip to his toy shop), getting the turkey out of the freezer, walking the dog x 2, vacuuming the house and dusting the house.
Doesn't sound like a day off when it is written down 🤔

I hope people don't go mad panic buying, it doesn't help when the media keep mentioning it, putting ideas in people's heads. Your dinner sounds lovely, I like salmon. Enjoy the first day of your Christmas break.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

The other half drove by a couple of supermarkets yesterday and said the queues were massive at them both.
Luckily we only need fruit and veg and we have a few local farmshops to choose from so should be able to get everything we need even if not all from the same shop!4 -
To be honest if all else fails with my last minute bits our local Mr T Express is very well stocked and never busy. Just a lot more expensive than anywhere else.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

Went to our usual farmshop at 8am this morning and managed to get everything that we needed in there. It was really very well stocked but they did say they are expecting to be very busy this next few days so I'm glad I went this morning and got that job crossed off the list.
Also been to Pets at Home while I was out and about. Managed to get the dog out without him grabbing any toys today which is a first!5 -

They pick up on every negative thing they can and then just go on and on. On a slightly different tack I am a radio 4 listener and you would think that they would try to be a little upbeat in their programming to try and cheer us up but no, nearly every play and book they broadcast is depressing. We havent even had any Just William which is often on at Christmas.I am just hoping I can get a couple of lemons which I forgot yesterday but not going out until tomorrow when DD and I are having a socially distanced chat in her front garden and dropping off presents, my home made mince pies and some brandy butter which i make for her every year. That will be our socialising for Christmas and then DH and I will be on our own for Christmas.
