Excellent news on the payrise and the fact that the lurgy is on the march - but a chilled out afternoon sounds like a good plan!

Lovely to hear about your pay rise, nice start to the new year. DH has had the lurgy that is going around but must admit he has been bad with it. Tho today he has gone out with his friends for a Xmas drink, still not back yet and I’m sure he will pay for it tomorrow. Brilliant news on another payrise. It nice to hear that some employers realise that their most valuable asset is their staff.

They are a good employer. Really can't complain.
Busy day today. The oven cleaner is here. Dog not too bad we are sat in the living room out of the way.
Carpet cleaners to contend with later!
Other half has gone to work out of the way. Sadly he couldn't take the dog today, the office is having a deep clean and rearrange.

In hindsight we really should have had the carpets cleaned in the summer. Now sat with all the windows open and the heating on trying to dry them out in time for this evening.
On the plus side they are nice and clean again. As is the oven.1 -
Your employers sound really good. It’s a pity more aren’t the same..

A no spends day today. The first in a string of them I think.
Breakfast was toast, I'm having a jacket potato with chilli for lunch and dinner tonight is beetroot burgers.
A quieter day today. Not doing much today. A load of washing and I will clean the van out later ready for our trip next week.2 -
I bought beetroot burgers from Lidl the other day, I don't know if they'll be a nice as the Aldi ones - will be testing one out tomorrow.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1
