alt80 said:The weather is really getting my family and I down. It’s always so dark in November/ December and January then we have the wholly miserable days. Don’t find these months pass as quickly either personally.
I have noticed a widening disparity between petrol and diesel prices around here. Tbh filling a car is not something that I miss plugging in at home a lot less fuss imo but compelled to look at the price from time to time. Wife thinks it’s funny when I tell her that petrol is up or down now we have a classic car that does about 2k miles a year and a lawnmower.
We were chatting with our neighbours about their electric car at the weekend. They reckon that there isn't much difference in cost now between running their electric I3 and their diesel Seat Leon!
Interestingly diesel prices do seem to be drifting back down again a little locally. Most of them have lost a few pence per litre this week. The cynic in me doubts that will last long though.

You've managed to get Christmas sorted before we have this year ha tbh even my wife isn't really looking forward to it this year.
As for your neighbour and their electric car, I've no idea how much ours cost to run and tbh I don't really care so I have no idea why I look at the petrol prices as I can't say I cared about what the car cost to run when I was running petrol cars either, just know it was a lot more than the electric cars. Think I just like checking the market for it ha.

For anyone charging on standard electricity rates rather than on a specific EV tariff with very cheap overnight costs then it's widely reckoned that April could see the per-mile cost of driving electric go above the cost of driving even a traditional combustion-engined vehicle. Certainly not something that for a lot of folk can still be sold to them as a money-saving option now! of course for those who DO have the EV tariff, and also use as much else in their home overnight on the off peak rate, there are still good savings to be made.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

The weather is vile this morning. We all got soaked walking around the block. We had just about dried out when we got to work.
There has been some minor flooding on the roads on the way in. If this heavy rain continues there will no doubt be more. One of the access roads into our estate was flooded this morning, but that's nothing unusual after heavy rain and we have an alternative route out that stay dry.2 -
