Just realised we are inadvertently having a veggie day today. The other half hasn't noticed yet 😁

The weather is a bit grim again here tonight. Heavy rain again. If it wasn't for us meeting up with friends tomorrow I think I would have been tempted to call tomorrow's van outing off.

As it happens they have managed to get us booked onto one of the two dog friendly tables at a nice pub and restaurant in the village so we are not going to let that slip. We might never be lucky enough to get booked on again 🤣🤣🤣
  • I love how your OH doesn't realise he's going meat free... probably your skilled cooking!
Enjoy your weekend! We need to find more dog friendly dining places as our pooch hates being left alone.

The weather forecast is pretty decent for tomorrow so you should be ok.

Definitely not a no spends day today.

I'm having my hair cut, we are going to our local pub for breakfast and dinner tonight is at a pub in Lincolnshire with friends. We need to put some diesel in the van as well. So a very spendy day I store 😕

It will be a day off the cooking for me unusually. I will quite enjoy that 😀

We will get up soon and have coffee and walk the dog before we go for breakfast.

The weather is a bit grim today. We had a lazy morning in bed and watching TV before we had to leave the site at 11am this morning.

Had a steady drive home due to the road conditions. Some huge puddles around.

We had a fab time last night catching up with friends. We will be seeing them again soon.

We are now back home, van back in the drive and dinner prepared. Slow cooked goat roast today. Breakfast was a bacon sandwich.

I think the rain is set in for the day so it will be a lazy Sunday on the cards. The dog isn't bothered about going out 🤔

Yesterday was a no spends day which takes the total to 4 for October so far. Hoping to add another few this week.

Today most definitely isn't a no spends day. We have filled the car up with diesel this morning. Nice to see that the station we used hasn't hiked their prices yet. A lot of the others on our route have and are now approaching £2 per litre again. This one was still at £1.78 a litre which is has been for a long while now. Added bonus that we get some Clubcard points for using that one as well. Need to start saving them up now to use on the Eurontunnel next year.

I am going to do the weekly shop tonight as well after work. Get that out of the way and then that should set us up for a run of no spend days.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. It was a bacon and egg sandwich for breakfast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is cajun goat wraps made with the leftovers from yesterdays roast dinner.

    Tonights jobs are:
    • walking the dog
    • weekly shop
It is a thoroughly miserable morning here again. Wet and dark still!

A no spends day today. Number 5 for October.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was crumpets, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is shepherd's pie made with half steak mince and half pearl barley with vegetables.

    Tonight's jobs are:
    • walking the dog
    • load of washing (hung in the spare bathroom to dry.
I started picking up a few bits from the shop for over the Christmas period last night. They had the really nice stuffing in so I picked one of those up and I got the ingredients for our Christmas dinner starter which are now in the freezer. We already have the pigs in blankets from the farm shop in the freezer and this weekend I am going to pick up a turkey crown from the farm shop to put in the freezer. Going to spread the cost out a bit this year so it doesn't all come at once.

It would help if we knew how many I was cooking for but in typical fashion the other half's family can't make up their mind yet and probably wont until a few days before hand which makes planning anything incredibly difficult.
