I think I would have slept through it had the dog not jumped on the bed and snuggled up in the middle of us.milann said:Apparently we had a bad storm too according to the neighbours….I didn’t hear a thing

Hoping for a better sleep tonight.1 -
It will be a no spends day today. Number 2 for September. I don't think we will get loads of no spends days in this month. It feels like it will be a spendy month.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was cereals, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is salmon, rice and vegetables.
Tonight's jobs are:- walking the dog
- cleaning the kitchen

Not a no spends day today. I have nipped to the shop before work to pick up a few bits for the van for this coming weekend.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores though. Breakfast was cereals, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is a beef stew that I have put in the slow cooker this morning. I will serve that with some dumplings or a Yorkshire pudding. Not sure which yet.

I wonder not news we should expect on energy bills today from the new prime minister?1 -
All sounding good there RS.
Yup….also wondering what today will bring….January spends - £587.582 -
Some slightly good news from the new PM today regarding energy bills.
I have done a quick calculation and based on the new price cap of £2500 and with the £400 rebate we will be paying about the same for energy for the next 12 months as we are now. We are relatively low users at 2500kWh for electric and 5500kWh for gas.
Will go up £400 next year though with no rebate so another £33.33 a month.
Mind you now that I have put our direct debit up from £95 a month to £160 a month we will be overpaying by quite some amount I suspect. I think I will leave this to stack up in the energy account in case we have a very cold winter and review it again next spring.
Our energy supplier Outfox the Market are paying the energy rebate as a £66/£67 refund into our bank account each month which seems an odd way of working it, so we will put that money into the savings account as and when it drops into our bank account.1 -

No jobs tonight. We are heading off out in the van after we have got home and had a quick shower. Just need to put the food in the fridge and fill up the water tank. We are heading to Ripon for the weekend this weekend.
We were saddened last night to hear the news that the queen has died. Neither of us are royalists but we do both admire her dedication to the job and her work over the years to unite a country often in troubled times.2 -
I thought this was how all the providers were doing it.RelievedSheff said:

Just managed to catch up on your diary RS, your bank holiday break looked a wonderful spot to stay - especially when you can pitch where you like.
The night of the awful storm, we were in the camper van at Fake Fest Walesby, it was a banging storm and kept me awake for ages, glad we weren't in a tent!
Also great work on the balances, I agree with Warby that the Motorhome debt is a good debt but you're completely right that it still needs to be paid. Keep plugging away
