I think it is more common to see women in engineering jobs these days which is nice. My DH was an engineer (electronic not civil) and more women were starting to be recruited as engineers. Part of my role in a University was to encourage women into STEM subjects. Times have changed since I was at school thankfully and lots more opportunities and encouragement for women to do traditionally male jobsI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. I reckon we could have enough for the shed by the end of December if we are fairly careful this month.
The benefits of the garage freezer are showing now as our monthly shopping bills have reduced.
We will of course have to restock it at some point but this time we can spread it out over a couple of months rather than having to do it all at once!4 -
£50 in the stocks and shares ISA today. This is ticking along nicely.
I have just ordered some wood from Wickes for a shelving project the other half wants to do later in the week so not a no spends day but it was only £30 including delivery so not a massively spendy day either.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was toast, lunch will be chip butties and dinner tonight is steak, sweet potato wedges, onion rings, homemade coleslaw, corn on the cob and grilled cherry tomatoes.
Today's jobs will be:- working from home
- cleaning the kitchen
- walking the dog x 2
- feeding the other half lots of hot drinks throughout the day

‘Isn’t a holiday’ lol. Too many of my staff thought it was earlier in the year and struggled with getting back into work.I’m sure working almost full time and studying wasn’t easy. Lot of admiration for people who take that route especially at such a young age rather than just going uni full time.Great news re shed and tonight’s dinner sounds amazing so long as you don’t overcook the steak lol. Wife is dragging me out of the home office to cook tonight not much to do but she’s said I can’t sit working with a ‘starving family’ to feed haha, she’s mad.5

I like my steak very rare. Cut it's horns off and wipe it's a""e rare
Got nothing down for an overdone steak. These are nice lumps of cow we have tonight as well. Definitely not going to be overdone.
In some ways it would have been easier to go down the uni route. But I would still be paying the student debt off now had I chosen that route.
You wife sounds like she is really liking this extra family time you are making.4 -
