alt80 said:Are you pleased to have closed the cards? I am concerned some of my card providers might try similar with ones I have which are clear and not being used.Fantastic news re tax / hamper.
It has given me a push to get more of them paid off and closed down now. Want to be in a situation where we have just the one credit card with a zero balance for emergency use only.
I think it will be a nice feeling when that day comes and cause for a drink or two 😃

thanks I wish I didn’t feel they’re a bit of a fall back if I need the money for whatever reason. They aren’t easily accessible and I won’t start spending on stupid stuff and know they have to be paid back but I have no personal safety net whatsoever so really don’t want to close accounts.Honestly would be cracking open a bottle of DP if I was in the position of no cards and not even needing the accounts open so 100 get where you’re coming from.Friday night must be close to finishing work for you, have a good one. 🍻 No drinks for me tonight off the booze for a few weeks lol.4

Really do envy you haha 4pm finish, cracked the beers open by 6 and own boat. You’re living the dream mate.I’ve still got a load of work to do lol. Had to take a step away, one meshing with the other now. !!!!!! warehouses honestly bore me senseless just tin sheds of varying size haha. Tree arrived wife decorating it with son and looks like I’m in for a sober night in front of the screen getting these jobs done. 😆4

Not seen the boat since we came back off holiday on it!
These lock downs have really messed with our boating time this year. We will have to pop across in the next couple of weeks to check it is OK and has plenty of electric on the bollard for the frost heaters.
I did start work at 7am so it wasn't really an early finish. Still keeping busy with the house builders. They are really pushing developments through at the moment.
The other half is furloughed next week. Looks like he has some digging to do. He will soon wish he was back at work again 🤣🤣🤣3 -
You in property too? FML I possibly know you in real life haha. Big developers definitely pushing at the moment I don’t get involved in too much new build res work tbf.Sorry to hear about OH not great news IMO.4

It really made no difference to our finances last time. The extra he gets at 100% wage just goes on fuel travelling too and from work.4 -
I only know two civil engineers both blokes and you’ve probably worked out I’m not on the Taylor Wimpey level re development ha I wish wouldn’t be on here moaning about my debts.
Knew you weren’t a typical woman lol. I think your OH is a very lucky man - earning partner who likes a beer at the weekend, classic car, boat etc. not too much else a bloke could want tbh. Probably going to regret writing this when the some of the women on here start saying how “disrespectful” I am but not gonna lie I find women in professions overrun by men a massive turn on. My ex was a QS, loved a night out too and she 100 knew how to put me in my place lol.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Definitely not a typical woman. (No offence meant to anyone!)
I won't lie it hasn't been an easy progression to where I am now. 20 years of working up from the office junior. It hasn't been an easy ride. And the job still has its challenging times.2
