We won't quite be having the same lunch today. No onions for the dog. He does love a bit of liver though3

Quite by chance I have had two letters today from two different companies which we hold credit cards with that have had a zero balance for a long time. Both had reduced our credit limits to really low amounts. So as we don't use these cards anymore I have closed down both accounts.
It felt quite good cutting up the cards after the accounts were closed
Looking forward to closing down a couple more accounts over the next couple of months and cutting the cards up.
It will feel better when we have our cards more in order and some of the smaller accounts are settled and closed down. At the moment it just feels like we have payments here, there and everywhere.6 -
You’ve reminded me that I really ought to cancel a card I no longer use but keep ‘just in case’.
It will feel good indeed to get rid of a couple more cards, that’s when you’ll start to feel you’re really getting somewhere.Well done getting the WFH tax refund. I haven’t applied because the heating etc would be on anyway as Mr SA is at home all day.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3 -

My OH has applied for and received WFH tax refund, even though I am home most of the time as our children have always been home educated.
As the saying goes "every little helps"
The company have been very proactive in making sure every eligible employee has claimed 🙂Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases
One income, home educating family2 -
Every little helps indeed. I have added the extra £43, well actually I have rounded it up to £50, onto my payment for Credit Card 3 next month making the payments on that card £300 per month. All helps to get it paid off that bit quicker2

Thanks @RelievedSheff I’ve just put in my claim for WFH. I was a bit hesitant because work have paid for my equipment plus because I work for the government I forget I’m a taxpayer too 😂I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

To top the day off we have just had an email from work to say that as we can't have an office Christmas party this year they are going to arrange for us all to get a Christmas hamper and some gift vouchers instead which is nice of them.4

Are you pleased to have closed the cards? I am concerned some of my card providers might try similar with ones I have which are clear and not being used.Fantastic news re tax / hamper.4
