It will be a low spend day today. The only things we need to get are fruit and vegetables from the local farm shop.
It us the weekend so breakfast is a full English. Today we have dry cured bacon, Stornoway Black pudding, hash brown, scrambled eggs and beans. Dinner tonight is chilli, rice and garlic bread.
We don't really have much planned for this weekend. There will be dog walks of course and we need to move the garden storage boxes from the patio onto the shed base.
Not sure what else we will be doing though.4 -
It will be a no spends day today.
Breakfast and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast will be a full English again and dinner tonight will be roast chicken with Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, roast potatoes, roast beetroot, roast parsnip, carrot, cauliflower, broccoli and green beans.
After breakfast we are going to take the dog for a good long walk in the woods and fields then when we get back we are going to wash the cars and clean them out and then we have a few light fittings to change in the house.
We spent £30 more than expected yesterday as we ordered some border edging and some weed membrane for the gravel path and borders in the garden. Figured that is a job we can do in the next few weeks while the grass is not looking at its best.3 -
Decided not to do the lights today. They can wait for another weekend.
I did end up with the rubbish job of cleaning the ovens though. Really hate that job!5 -
I hate cleaning the oven too, did it recently, took the best part of a day all in all.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

Think I'm really lucky in that oven cleaning is one of DH's chores, along with cleaning the windows! Both jobs I hate, but he does them without moaning (usually!).

Cleaning ovens is something I pay for. Cannot bear it and for £50 I get it done every 6 months and just keep on top of it the rest of the time.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. We do cheat and get the ovens professionally cleaned once a year. So it was really just a quick wipe around, they were not too bad. Still a rubbish job though.4

It is another no spends day today.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was cereals, the other half has taken his packed lunch to work, I have some left over chilli for my lunch, think I will have this on a pancake and then dinner tonight is chicken and mushroom pie made with the leftover chicken from yesterday's roast dinner. I will serve this with some chips and some vegetables.
Today's jobs include:- working from home
- load of washing (hoping this will dry today as yesterday's load dried)
- vacuuming the house
- dusting the house
- making pie
- walking the dog x 2

No spending here too. Chicken and mushroom pie sounds amazing. My wife is doing ramen takes ages but delicious.
Bet the garden is really starting to take shape now? Think I need something like that in my life out of work stop the self destructive stuff I do in my downtime tbh.5 -
The garden is looking a bit sorry for itself but we know it will recover. We hope that by the start of spring we will have it ready to get some planting in and get the shed sorted and then we can sit back and enjoy it through the summer.
Time to start on the front garden then!!5
