Definitely not a no spends day now.

Have just ordered us a new BBQ and accessories. Our current cheap BBQ was on it's last legs and it is pretty much falling apart now. It really doesn't have much life left in it. We have had it a few years and we didn't pay much for it so we can't really complain about it not lasting.

We have a family BBQ at our house next month and it would be touch and go whether it would survive that long.

We spotted a nice BBQ at the garden centre yesterday that was very sturdy construction and comes with a 10 year warranty but the price was a bit more than we wanted to pay. So I have been online today and found it direct from the manufacturer for cheaper than the price in the garden centre, plus I have added a few bits too the order as well. A pizza stone, griddle pan, BBQ cover and rotisserie.

Not cheap but we do BBQ a lot and it should last a long time if the warranty is anything to go by.

Delivery is from Ireland from the manufacturers so it will be next week before it arrives.
  • Given the amount of BBQ's you have, I would say this is a needed replacement :)

It is. But it still doesn't make it any easier to press go on that payment  :D

Not a no spends day again. June is proving to be quite a spendy month. We have bought fathers day presents this morning ready to deliver.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores though. Breakfast was toasted fruit loaf, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is smoked salmon with tortellini and vegetables.

    Tonight's jobs are:
    • delivering one of the fathers day presents
    • load of washing (i'm going to dry this in the spare bathroom rather than use the dryer)
    • walking the dog
  • We use our spare bathroom for drying washing instead of the dryer... it's got the airing cupboard in there so it's really warm most of the time. We now affectionately refer to it as 'the drying room' :D   Think I'll get mine on the line today though, it should be nice all day according to the radio just now.

If I was at home it would be on the line by now

Unfortunately working from the office again I can't line dry as much as I would like.

    Balances Update 14.06.22

Furniture Loan = £0 (Account Settled)

HP Car Loan = £0 (Account Settled)

    Debt 1 = £0 (Account Settled)

    Paypal Credit = £0

Credit Card 1 =£0 (Account Closed)

    Credit Card 2 = £0 (Account Closed)

    Credit Card 3 = £0 (Account Closed)

    Credit Card 4 = £0

    Credit Card 5 = £0

    Credit Card 6 = £0

    Credit Card 7 = £13047 (£200 repayment 0% interest until June 2023)

HP Motorhome Loan = £18479(£393 repayment final payment April 2026)

     Total Debt = £31526

    Savings Account = £322

    Premium Bonds = £150

    Total Savings = £472

Buying that BBQ has put our credit card balance up a bit but it will get some good use and has a long warranty so it was worth spending more in the short term for a quality item.

With just one credit card repayment to make each month now that tidies up the monthly finances nicely as well. I will increase the monthly repayment next month after we have been on holiday and will round down the balance to a nice round number on payday as well. That £47 needs to go :)

Can you not set your WM so it finishes when you get up in the morning and then hang out on the line on nice days? Both cheaper and far safer than using the dryer while you're out. You get lovely smelling laundry as well of course - can't beat the smell of clothes and bedding etc dried outdoors IMO!

We could but we do run the risk that they will just be covered in dust from the building site when we get home!

It is very dusty when they are much shifting.

They are just starting works to finish the roads off as well on our street so that will be extra dirty for a while as well.

The windows were cleaned last week but you wouldn't know it to look at them now!
