  • We have driven past loads of petrol stations this morning and not one of them had applied the 5p per litre price cut that the chancellor announced yesterday. So they are just pocketing an extra 5p per litre profit now :(
We noticed the same thing last night, and I doubt it'll be any different around us this morning.  I feel really fortunate that I work from home but hubby uses quite a lot of diesel for commuting to work so we are feeling the pain regardless.

The decrease in fuel will only apply when petrol stations get new deliveries apparently due to the way Duty is collected.thats not to say petrol stations will be totally honest ot that the price won't rise in the meantime.

A couple of the supermarkets have applied the 5p per litre reduction from 6pm last night.

Interesting on that reduction not being applied - it was meant to kick in from 6pm yesterday! Both the petrol station we pass on our way into our town had definitely knocked the 5p off when we went by at around 6.30pm yesterday. I do wonder how long before it starts creeping back up again though!

Not a no spends day today. I have had to pick a few bits up from the shop this morning. Nothing expensive though just a few pounds spent.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores. Breakfast was toast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is chilli dogs with a few beers on the sofa while watching a couple of films.

No jobs to do tonight. We got them all done last night so we can chill out tonight. We will have to go and walk the dog. Might find somewhere new on the way home from work as we have no rush to get home.

Looking forward to a weekend at home this weekend. Getting a few bits done around the house and in the garden. Think the BBQ will get cracked out this weekend.
  • It definitely feels like BBQ weather at the moment doesn't it? :)

It certainly does. Think we are having a BBQ lunch tomorrow and a BBQ breakfast on Sunday :)

Make the most of the good weather, BBQs sound brilliant. On my way home from work today I walked along the canal towpath and it was so good to see everyone sat outside having a drink in the sun.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

Not a no spends day today. We are going to the farm shop for fruit, vegetables and some meat for the bbq.

Full English for breakfast this morning and BBQ dinner later on.

We are going to get some compost and get the carrots and beetroot planted as well. We are a bit later with them this year.

It's been quite spendy today but the freezers are now stocked up.

One load of washing has dried on the line. Just got a load of bedding in the wash to hang out to dry very shortly.

The other half is currently busy sorting his planters and seeds out.

We had a lovely walk with the dog at a local country park. It was quite busy though with people enjoying the sunshine. The dog is now laid in the sunshine in the garden watching the other half.

Now to decide what is going on the bbq later. We have too much to choose from now 🤣🤣🤣
