We have 2x11kg refillable as well. Figured we would fit the biggest possible bottles in the locker to give us the biggest capacity possible.joedenise said:We always fill up when the tank gets to about half and if it's at our local Morrisons then we top up with gas as well. Sometimes it only takes about £3 or £4 of gas depending on how long it's been since filling before but we take every opportunity as you just never know how easy it's going to be to top up when you go out of your own area. We've got 2 x 11 Kg refillable bottles so it wasn't even that expensive to fill up when we first got them - IIRC it was about £14 at the time! Of course prices have gone up a bit since then!
They do last a long while though. Even at this time of year with the heating on a lot. We probably won't need to refill now until we go away to the Isle of Wight in July.
Our local LPG filling place just up the road had not had any now for a couple of weeks. We are hoping it is just a supply issue because it is handy having it there even though it isn't the cheapest place we can buy it.1 -
milann said:Pleased it was just a scratch and not a crack in the windscreen. It’s a shock putting petrol in the MH…..😳…..we’ve come to the same conclusion about topping up regularly rather than letting it run low.
We were dreading it being a crack.milann said:Pleased it was just a scratch and not a crack in the windscreen. It’s a shock putting petrol in the MH…..😳…..we’ve come to the same conclusion about topping up regularly rather than letting it run low.
Still not sure what has caused it though. It is on the inside not the outside!1 -
Please to see you had a bit of sun further north too yesterday. It’s a bit dreary here again this morning.
Are cracks not covered by the insurance like a car is for the van?
As for the petrol, I filled my Range Rover yesterday. Cost me £250 couldn’t believe it tbh felt a bit sick handing my card over now I’ve become used to plugging the electric car in lol.2 -
Monday seems to have come around quick again. It will be a no spends day today. Number 4 for March.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was crumpets, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is chicken, mushroom and bacon pasta with garlic bread.
Today's jobs are:- cleaning the kitchen
- dusting the house
- walking the dog

It's a bit grey and cold here this morning but it looks like the sun will break through at some point.alt80 said:Please to see you had a bit of sun further north too yesterday. It’s a bit dreary here again this morning.

Cracks are covered by the insurance but we never bother using the glass cover. The other half knows a glass man really well so we get any cracks or new screens though him. It works out cheaper than claiming on insurance. Thankfully this time it is just a scratch.
We have both said that we can see fuel reaching £2 per litre by the summer which will make running the van, and the car for that matter, an expensive job. We will just have to shuffle some money round to make sure we can continue to pay the extra and hope that the high prices don't last too long. Although we don't hold out much hope of that

I think we'll have to start using the scooter a bit more if the fuel prices get much higher - at least once summer is here! We already use it quite a bit in the summer when we go away as always put it on the back of the van, at least in this country, if not we use buses. We don't usually take it when we go to France but think we may well do this year so that we don't use the MH quite as much - it will be a bit like when we had a caravan where we based ourselves in one place and then went out and back each day. Don't really want to have to do that but if fuel prices remain high then it will at least be an option.

Even with the cars we've decided that for the time being we'll top up weekly I think - prices are only going in one direction at the moment, realistically, so it seems to make sense to stay ahead of the curve while we can. the big car was filled up yesterday, my Clio will be done on Friday when I come back from my trip to Lincoln as I have enough to get me there and back.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Ds filled up at weekend and we were saying we didn’t ever think we’d class 149.9 as cheap. We saw it 180.9 in one petrol station 😳😳January spends - £587.580

Prices range from 153.7p to 168.9p round here for diesel at the minute.
It seems to be cheaper in Sheffield than in Worksop so we fill up in Sheffield when we are here.
