It won't be a no spends day today but it shouldn't be overly spendy either. We need to go and get fruit and vegetables from the farm shop and I need to pop to the supermarket to pick a few bits up but nothing much. Mainly just bread for next week's sandwiches.
Breakfast and dinner will be from stores today. Full English for breakfast while we are at home and dinner tonight is slow cooked ox tail madras with pilau rice, vegetable samosa and garlic chapatti.
We are at home this weekend so we will get some stuff done at home and we need to get the stuff put back on the van that we took off and reclaim the dare bedroom. I will wash the bedding before it goes back on. Want to wash our house bedding as well today.
We are visiting a dear friend today. She had an operation recently so is on orders to take it easy. Its a while since we last had a catch up. She moved into her new house a year ago. I have not seen it yet. The other half has he helped her move while he was on furlough. Shows what an odd couple of years its been really. In ordinary times we would have been straight therefor a house warming party.3 -
Quiet weekend for us too.
Life has definitely changed for us post-Covid but tbh needed to. We have son's best friend coming here to bake bread and the parents turning up a few hours later to try it haha not a chance I'd have stuck around for that this time last year lol.
Have a nice time catching up with your friend.1 -

Not quite a no spends day today either. We are going to find some lpg for the van today. Our usual local petrol station hasn't had any for over a week now and we are starting to run low. So we are having a trip into Sheffield to find some.
While we are there we are calling in at the glass man's house. He wants a look at the van anyway but he is going to look at the windscreen for us. We have what we can't decide is either a crack or a very deep scratch in the windscreen. He will have a look and see what he thinks is the best bet.
Breakfast and dinner will be from stores. Full English breakfast for breakfast and roast chicken with all the trimmings later on for dinner.
We need to get the van loaded up again this morning. Didn't get round too it yesterday, we ended up staying at our friends much longer than expected. We had a lovely time though.1 -
It has been nice to have some sunshine today. 🌞
Just got back home from running some errands and walking the dog and the house is toasty warm from the sun streaming through the windows.
We got the van topped up with diesel and LPG. 50 litres of diesel which came to £78 and 25 litres of LPG which was £18. I think we will start just topping the van up every few weeks so it doesn't feel like a big hit all at once 🤔
The good news is that the scratch on the windscreen is indeed a scratch not a crack so it doesn't need replacing which is a relief.
Just got back from taking the dog for a walk at the local golf course. He really enjoyed the sunshine. He has had a bath when we got home and is now fast asleep in his kitchen bed.

Dinner is now prepared ready for later on so time to crack open a beer I think.3 -
Pleased it was just a scratch and not a crack in the windscreen. It’s a shock putting petrol in the MH…..😳…..we’ve come to the same conclusion about topping up regularly rather than letting it run low.January spends - £587.582

We always fill up when the tank gets to about half and if it's at our local Morrisons then we top up with gas as well. Sometimes it only takes about £3 or £4 of gas depending on how long it's been since filling before but we take every opportunity as you just never know how easy it's going to be to top up when you go out of your own area. We've got 2 x 11 Kg refillable bottles so it wasn't even that expensive to fill up when we first got them - IIRC it was about £14 at the time! Of course prices have gone up a bit since then!
