The picture doesn't do it justice. It was an awesome squall. Glad I wasn't out in it!Grumpelstiltskin said:I had that rain at 4pm, must have been heading north to you.0 -
We're having the horizontal squall now - and far south of you, in Gloucestershire. Stayed in Ollerton in October - never quite made it to the Major Oak but enjoyed a walk from Sherwood Pines and an epic meal at Forest Lodge in Edwinstowe.#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3660

We’ve passed Shewood Forest many times but never actually stopped. It’s somewhere we want to go in the van this year.
We have the same rule - one of us cooks the other washes up 👍January spends - £587.580 -

DH and I split the cooking and washing up. He does most of the prep and I do the cooking. I wash up and he dries and puts away. Much easier to split it as the draining board isn't big enough for all the pans, plates and cutlery so doing it this way it gets washed, dried and put away without any hassle!

I’ve never split the cooking with Mr SA but he always used to help with the washing up of anything that didn’t fit in the dishwasher. He was pretty good at ironing and cleaning too. Unfortunately he’s no longer able to help but it was good while it lasted.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

I'm only talking about in the motorhome! At home anything which doesn't fit in the dishwasher he washes, dries and puts away because I do the cooking!Sun_Addict said:I’ve never split the cooking with Mr SA but he always used to help with the washing up of anything that didn’t fit in the dishwasher. Can't quite believe what has just happened.
The other half has gone to take the dog out for his last wees.
The wind has ripped the patio door from the other half's hand which has flown back hit the bin (which isn't usually where it is now) and sprung back unharmed.
At the same time the glass patio table had flown into the air and landed upside down on the dog.
Had the dog not been there it would have shattered. Fortunately the dog is absolutely fine if not a little shocked.
Absolutely mad weather. And our garden is very sheltered. That table has never moved 🤔2 -
Poor dog! What a lucky escape and thank goodness the door didn’t break. Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien
