My sister and I have decided rather than buying each other presents we're going to treat ourselves to something rather than spending the money.
  • My family have opted for no presents this year. Instead me and each of my DD and GCs  families  are going to host/organise a day out next year when hopefully we will be able to move around a bit more freely. I am going to host a boat trip to see the seals. If any of the family are a bit strapped for cash it can be a picnic on the local park.
All that clutter used to be money
  • That sounds lovely @Sayschezza

Ooh I like salmon with sweet potato wedges, very nice. That's brilliant news about the remortgage and a concrete plan in place to reduce the term. Our mortgage was paid off 8 years ago but we took another one out to refurbish our house. I don't regret doing this in the least as it's made a huge difference. I must make an effort to overpay if I can though, allowed to overpay 10% a year and really should take advantage. We're on a fixed rate until the term ends in 5 years.
