Its a shame he is such a scardy cat.
He is a brilliant ratter. Took him to a friend's farm and he can rat like no ones business but he is terrified of the guns.3 -
I can’t get over just what a character he looks even in photos! He’s brilliant and you’ve given him a chance at life after a rubbish start. Really admire that.
You have a fantastic life @RelievedSheff money can’t buy happiness you know that and live by that but aren’t a miser with it either. I’m sat doing work stuff I have no need to do on a Sunday night because I can’t face my wife. Fairly certain I’ve probably got a bigger income and house but you’ve got stuff I’ll never have. Keep trucking with the debt and you’ll get that bigger boat for cash in a few years to come. Good times ahead for you. 100% deserved too.3 -
Going to be a spendy day today. The lads are coming to do the patio and shed base.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores though. Breakfast was cereals, the other half has taken his packed lunch to work, I will have something from the fridge for my lunch and dinner tonight is enchilladas made with the left over pork from yesterdays sunday dinner.
Today's jobs include:- working from home
- stopping the dog damaging the patio doors while trying to attack the workmen in the garden
- walking the dog x 2

The patio and the shed base are now finished and look spot on.
The grass is a bit muddy in places now but it will soon bounce back. One of the disadvantages of having garden works done in the autumn and winter!!
The dog will be shattered tonight. He has not slept all day. He has been laid in his bed at the patio doors scowling at the lads in the garden.5 -
Glad it’s all done and looking good. My dog loves it when we have workmen in, she doesn’t leave them alone.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

It will be a no spends day today.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was toast, the other half has taken his packed lunch to work, I think I might have soup for my lunch today and dinner will be lemon and herb chicken with rice and roasted vegetables.
Today's jobs include:- working from home
- packaging up a parcel of Christmas presents to send to the other half's parents (They have sensibly decided not to come down to ours for Christmas even if the Covid restrictions allow)
- organising courier for said parcel
- load of washing
- vacuuming the house
- dusting the house
- attempting to clean some more mud off the driveway and patio (the lads did clean up as best they could but it is a mud bath at the minute!!)
- walking the dog x 2
We have decided to leave getting the shed until next spring when we have some warmer and hopefully drier weather and longer evenings. Nothing hurting until then. We will shift the garden boxes back onto the shed base this coming weekend so they are out of the way again.
It is the dog's birthday today. He loved opening his present and is currently snuggled up in his kitchen bed with his new toy.6 -
Sounds sensible to leave the shed until Spring. Not surprised it is a mud bath out there. It has done nothing but rain down here in Cornwall for the last week or so. I think we had a nice day Friday though the days are all merging into one now. Glad the dog likes his toy.
We have opted for no presents for extended family this year with mutual agreement due to not travelling to see each other. We were supposed to be in Surrey now visiting my mum but obviously lockdown 2 meant we had to cancel which has sadly sent her into a depression. She lives with my stepdad who has dementia so has it tough but without the support of family it is 10 times worse.

Just checked in hoping for another dog pic
The rain is depressing - so much easier to keep upbeat on the brighter days.
Smiling because your dog's birthday is also my OH's birthday6 -
The weather has been the same here, continually wet and over cast. Sure the garden will recover given some time. Fortunately the two worst of grass, well mud, are two bits that are going to be dug up anyway to create a gravel path and border so no great loss!
Sorry to hear about your mum struggling. Lockdown has been really hard on people in lots of different ways.6 -
Happy Birthday to the dog 🎁 Good idea to leave the shed until the Spring especially if you can manage without it until then.
I do feel for your mum ES, depression is a by-product of lockdown/restrictions for lot of people unfortunately, particularly those who are on their own or rely on family support.
