It has been nice to have a holiday that has come in well under what we had budgeted for for a changealt80 said:That's brilliant re spends @RelievedSheff

It will be a no spends day today. The first for a while.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores. It was cereals for breakfast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is spag bol and garlic bread.
Today's jobs will be:- vacuuming the house
- cleaning the kitchen
- walking the dog

I'm finding it difficult to adjust to the dark mornings, I really don't like going out in the dark. You did really well with the holiday spends.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

It certainly wasn't intentional that we spent so little. We just found that a lot of the places we stopped didn't offer any chance for spending money as they were out in the wilds.Sun_Addict said:I'm finding it difficult to adjust to the dark mornings, I really don't like going out in the dark. We already know that our planned trips for next year will be more spendy because we will have to rely on camp sites a lot more on the Isle of Wight and Devon and Cornwall.1 -
We usually find spending in the Hebrides is almost non existent on the "doing things" front - the spend while we're there is almost entirely food and drink. We take almost nothing with us though and do our shopping up there as that makes a huge difference to the local economy. Only stuff we can't get there, or which isn't worth us buying just for a couple of weeks, is usually packed to carry up.
I can recommend a glorious campsite for Cornwall if you're planning to be in the Camborne area - Magor Farm - basically a couple of fields with a wonderful traditional 1950's style wash-block - not though you'd need that bit. Lovely area to explore and the family who run it are lovely too! stayed there a number of times in the tent!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Thanks for the recommendation.EssexHebridean said:We usually find spending in the Hebrides is almost non existent on the "doing things" front - the spend while we're there is almost entirely food and drink.
