That looks well worth any challenges to get there.

It looks absolutely amazing mate. I keep saying it but I’d love to be able to visit some of those places, different world absolutely beautiful. Just had pics from Croatia too forwarded to my wife she now wants to go there at some point fml.

I don’t blame you making the most of the van. I’ve def started to prefer eating at home tbf some of the meals you post on here sound better than what you’ll get in most pubs.

  • Last nights stop over at Staffin Harbour.

  • We are both feeling a little delicate this morning after drinking with our new temporary neighbours last night. Not ideal for what will be our most challenging day on the road of the trip.

We are just on a quick stop to deal with the vans tanks and then will pick up some fuel before heading back onto the main land and heading to Applecross.

£200 has been paid to Card 7 today.

  • Just been catching up with your diary and all your adventures RS - you drew me in with mentions of Stornoway Black pudding! 😂 Lovely to get up to date and find photos of Skye too! Also another one here who loves reading about your food, we also buy meat in bulk from time to time and wouldn’t do it any other way now through choice!

One thing I will say - you said earlier in the diary that you thought you’d always have vehicles on finance, and sure, if you aspire to that, then you most likely will. It’s not something you need to just accept though - it’s something a bit like overdrafts that (non MSE) society has conditioned us to just accept as normal, but it absolutely doesn’t need to be!

Very much looking forward to hearing about the rest of your Scottish travels! (And yes, cancelled ferries up there are pretty much a way of life, definitely not any sort of disaster, you just learn to expect disruption and if it doesn’t happen then it’s a bonus!)

We stayed at Inverness last week in an apartment, had lovely weather, loads of motor homes on the roads not as many caravans, mind you some of those roads were a bit daunting in a car never mind towing a caravan. One thing I did notice up there was no panic buying at the pumps, all petrol stations had petrol/diesel and no queuing at the pumps. Maybe a bit different now. We used Inverness as a base and travelled around, next time we will do west coast , loving the photos of Scotland. Enjoy the rest of your hols.xx

Been out in the sticks for a few days with no Internet connection. It is rugged and beautiful but the weather has been wild. Will try and post an update later.
