I am finding I'm getting more done at home because I don't have the constant disturbances that I do in the office with people asking questions all the time. Not that I'm anti social but sometimes I just want to get my head down and get a job rattled off.Sun_Addict said:We’ve had it written into our new contract that we can WFH 2 days a week and at your line manager’s discretion to WFH 3 days. It’s been agreed I can do 3 at home. 2 days in the office will be just right for me. I probably do more work at home because I spend a lot of time talking when I’m in the office 😆2 -
It's easier said than done at the minute for me to just pop 45 minutes down the road into town. It would mean either me getting the van out and taking that into Sheffield or the other half driving back 45 minutes to come and pick me up and then 45 minutes back into Sheffield again. Or a two mile walk to the train station after work and the other half pick me and the dog up from the station.alt80 said:I'm sure yours and your OHs dads would appreciate a visit from both of you rather than OH just dropping off - you're 45 mins down the road. Recently I've realised just how far away my parents are and they are getting on in years need to make the effort. Up to you ultimately and know I'm the last person who should be doling out any advice but times over the past few weeks I've wished my mum and dad are 45 mins down the road.
Re WFH I've said before even pre-covid the majority of my staff do hybrid model and it works well. I'm not personally a fan of full time WFH but have found a hybrid model works really well and a lot of staff like that.
It is just easier and quicker for him to pop in and drop the gifts off. We will catch up with them all in the near future and have a proper day out somewhere.3 -
@RelievedSheff that’s fair enough sorry I shouldn’t have said anything tbh. When you actually add up the 45 mins there back there back it’s a fair distance. Had to smile at the thought of you getting the van out to drive to Sheffield thought at least you can make a cup of tea if the traffic is bad ha.2

It was a fair question and in other times had I been working in the office we would of course have both gone to see them.alt80 said:@RelievedSheff that’s fair enough sorry I shouldn’t have said anything tbh. When you actually add up the 45 mins there back there back it’s a fair distance. That's one bonus of the van. We found that when sat in traffic the other day. We just pulled into the nearest layby got the kettle on and waited for the traffic to sort itself out again. No more expensive services snacks and drinks either when we are away. We can make our own now instead and we have our own loo instead of horrible service station loos

Just got back from a lovely walk with the dog. We sometimes forget how lucky we are to live here with so many beautiful walks on our doorstep.
Had a lovely walk around the pond followed by a walk in the woods.

Now back at home and I'm going to cut the grass back and front. Looking at the weather forecast I might not get the chance for the rest of the week between dodging rain showers 🤔2 -
Looks like an amazing walk on your doorstep in this weather. 👍1

We’ve pictures of our 1 year old son walking on the M62 in a 4 hour stand still traffic jam. We was going to the seaside fir his first birthday, luckily we where ‘parked’ beside a camper van who reheated his milk and food for him.RelievedSheff said:
