We decided it was too hot to take the dogs to the beach today and headed home instead this afternoon.

Still we have had a great sunny weekend away with friends. We definitely won't leave it so long next time before we see then again.

The turkey is in the slow cooker for later and the rest of dinner is prepared.

It is ridiculous how hot this house is again!

We have just treated ourselves to a new touring caravan. Picking it up in 2 weeks, cannot wait to start our adventures. Hope we don’t have any problems with towing. Love seeing your trips away. I don’t know if you noticed when buying yours but there’s a shortage of motor homes and caravans due to the virus lots of people are now buying these to have holidays here and campsites are booking up quickly. But like you we just want quiet sites. Keep on posting your trips away.x

Yes we are away with friends with their camper van next weekend. Got a weekend off the one after that though as we have some friends coming to stay at our house for the weekend instead.

Mind you the Sunday will be spent getting the van ready to go away for a week the weekend after that.

We had a bit of a nightmare when we bought ours. We had already narrowed it down to the van and model that we wanted but then we couldn't find one for sale. When one did finally come up it was a bit more money than we had initially wanted to pay and had more mileage on it than we would have liked, but it was in good condition so we went for it.

Booking campsites is proving to be a bit of a nightmare at the minute. We don't go on many sites we prefer wild camping but when we have been on them getting booked in where you want to be is a bit of pot luck. The site we were on at the weekend has literally just opened a field full of new pitches which is how we got on there at short notice.

Decided to find somewhere to go for the August bank holiday weekend yesterday and it was a lot harder to find somewhere than we anticipated. We have ended up on the pop up camp site at Whitby for a couple of nights. Not exactly what we had in mind being in a field with 400 odd other tents, caravans and motorhomes and really expensive at £65 for two nights with no electric but we like Whitby and if the weather is nice it should be a good atmosphere and they are putting on live bands, catering trailers and mobile bars on the site.

I'm glad we had the foresight to book early for next years Jubilee bank holiday weekend. I can see that being really busy for camp sites as well. We have booked into Southwold which is a town we love and the site is really well located right by the harbour with the best fish and chips for a shack on the harbour front.

Love how you’re getting so much enjoyment from your van. It was certainly a worthwhile purchase.

£100 paid to Card 3 today. It will be a no spends day other than this.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. It was egg and soldiers for breakfast made with some lovely eggs from our friends chickens, the other half has taken his packed lunch to work, I am having a turkey and chorizo toasted sandwich for my lunch and dinner tonight is turkey and mushroom pie with chips and vegetables.

    Today's jobs include:
    • working from home
    • vacuuming the house
    • dusting the house
    • load of washing to hang on the line to dry
    • walking the dog x 2

I'm glad we are enjoying it. We were a little bit nervous when we got it about if we would enjoy it as much as we did the boat. Turns out we needn't have worried at all.

    Food sounds good again.

Can’t believe how much use you’re getting out of the van - good for you. 👍

My wife is starting thinking about kids summer holidays we both think everything is going to be a nightmare for people booking at the moment. Glad we’ve got the week before the other schools break up tbh. I don’t usually do summer hols but should make some kind of effort this time I know.
