Do you prefer it to the boat then?1
-
That's a really difficult question. We loved being on the water and on the boat but equally we are loving the variety of places we can visit with the van. With the boat we were limited to where the river went, with the van there are no restrictions on where we can go other than our time and the distance that we want to travel.alt80 said:Do you prefer it to the boat then?
One thing is for sure. The van is a lot easier to live with day to day and a lot less hassle to sort out and get ready for the next trip. Having it on the drive helps no end as we can just pop out to do a few jobs or bits of cleaning in the week whereas with the boat we either had to clean it when we got back to the moorings or it was the first job when we got to the boat the following week.
We are still getting used to how far we can travel in a weekend with the van. Places that we used to visit by boat that were days away are only an hour away in the van

What you need is a boat and a van lol. Tbf sounds like you’ve got a hobby you both love, 100% lucky to have that and as I’ve said before you and your OH are amazingly lucky to have each other. From what you’ve said on here you’re soulmates, made for each other. Few people have a relationship like that, he needs to realise how good he’s got it and make it official. 100% if he was one of my staff I’d tell him to get his act together and get a ring on your finger.1

Don't you start with that as well. We have enough from the family

It will be a low spends day today. The other half is going to pick up some fathers day presents on the way home from work. He will deliver them tomorrow night and Thursday night after work while he is in the city.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was crumpets, the other half has taken his packed lunch to work, I am having vegetable rice for my lunch and dinner tonight is slow cooked game casserole in a giant Yorkshire pudding with vegetables.
Today's jobs include:- working from home
- cleaning the kitchen
- sticking dinner in the slow cooker
- walking the dog x 2

Before this latest announcement we were told not to expect to be back in the office until September and then initially only for one day a week. We're moving to a new building next year, at the rate we're going we'll be going straight to the new place!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

We had an email a couple of weeks ago to say that we would be back in the office on the 21st June unless Boris announced a delay. So I am guessing we will get another email today to say we are not going back until the 19th July now.Sun_Addict said:Before this latest announcement we were told not to expect to be back in the office until September and then initially only for one day a week. I would quite happily stay working from home. It suits me and it is something that I will bring up in my annual review on the 22nd June. There really is no need for me to be in the office. I can do my job perfectly well from home.3 -
I'm sure yours and your OHs dads would appreciate a visit from both of you rather than OH just dropping off - you're 45 mins down the road. Recently I've realised just how far away my parents are and they are getting on in years need to make the effort. Up to you ultimately and know I'm the last person who should be doling out any advice but times over the past few weeks I've wished my mum and dad are 45 mins down the road.
Re WFH I've said before even pre-covid the majority of my staff do hybrid model and it works well. I'm not personally a fan of full time WFH but have found a hybrid model works really well and a lot of staff like that.3 -
We’ve had it written into our new contract that we can WFH 2 days a week and at your line manager’s discretion to WFH 3 days. It’s been agreed I can do 3 at home. 2 days in the office will be just right for me. I probably do more work at home because I spend a lot of time talking when I’m in the office 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4
