Well we didn't get any thunderstorms but it is now raining. Doesn't seem to have cooled down much though!

It won't be a no spends day today. We have an Asda delivery coming this afternoon.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores though. Breakfast was toast, the other half has taken his packed lunch to work, I am having a jacket potato for my lunch and dinner tonight is goat shanks with root veg mash and vegetables.

    Today's jobs include:
    • working from home
    • load of washing
    • cleaning the bathrooms
    • walking the dog x 2

£251 sent to the car HP Loan today. Other than the above it should be a low spends day.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was crumpets, the other half has taken his packed lunch to work, I will grab something from the fridge for my lunch and dinner tonight is lasagne.

    Today's jobs include:
    • working from home
    • vacuuming the house
    • dusting the house
    • making the lasagne
    • loading up the van
    • walking the dog x 2
Our friends we were suppose to be going away with this weekend rang up and cancelled a couple of nights ago. They had not realised it was Fathers Day on Sunday. This is fine with us. We were a bit concerned about the access track to where we were heading anyway. It is a very, very, bumpy dirt track and with the recent rain and more rain forecast we didn't fancy the idea of getting stuck!!

So we have changed our plans and we will be heading an hour down the road to what is fast becoming one of our favourite stops at a lovely riverside pub. Think we will have a couple of nights there this time. We will probably only have the one drink tonight just to say we have been in. But we will make up for that tomorrow I'm sure :)

    Balances Update 18.06.21

    Furniture Loan = £0

    Debt 1 = £0

    Credit Card 1 =£0
    Credit Card 2 = £0
    Credit Card 3 = £1381 (£100 repayment 29.9% interest)
    Credit Card 4 = £4771 (£60 repayment 0% interest)
    Credit Card 5 = £8357 (£261 repayment 19% interest)

    HP Car Loan = £2174
    HP Motorhome Loan = £23195

    Total Debt = £39878

Just one more month of minimum payments on the credit cards until my CCJ clears my credit file and then I will be looking to balance transfer them all onto the one card and start to make some inroads into clearing the credit card debt.

Won't be all that much longer before the car HP Loan is paid off as well. Only another 8 payments to go on that one.

That's a very sensible idea going to a pub this weekend - definitely need hard standing this weather!  Assume it's a Britstop?

We're just back from our holiday so will be at home for the next couple of weeks and then we're off again for about 10 days.  Not sure what we're doing after that though.  I'm sure we'll think of something though!

    Yes it's a Britstop.

We are having next weekend at home as we have some friends coming to stay with us on Saturday. Will spend Sunday cleaning the van then the weekend after we set off on our first proper holiday with the van, 9 days in the Lake District.

We are both looking forward to a break but neither of us has ever been to the Lakes, we have only ever driven through on our way to Scotland. Looking forward to finding some nice places. We are using a mixture of proper sites, Britstops and lay by parking/ car parking so it will be interesting to see how we get on.

Have a good one @RelievedSheff. Card balances will start coming down quickly once you’ve BT’d onto 0% bet you’re looking forward to the CCJ being off your file for good? My worst !!!!!! nightmare getting something like that ha but you’re through now. Mortgage on decent rate, !!!!!! the interest baring cards off onto the 0% and can get on with your life. You’ll have no debt in 5 years time 100% you’ll reach your target.

Counting down the days until that CCJ is gone. It goes on the 15th. It is the last reminder of just how bleak our situation got.

We will be relieved to get all of the cards back on 0% and start to make inroads into paying them down. Will be glad when the credit card debt is all gone to be truthful.

Enjoy the lakes.  We went there last year and had a great time.  It was our first time too.  Will definitely go again in a couple of years time.

The lakes are beautiful and there are many places that are not busy if you look for them.. Just be aware that weather can change quickly so make sure you take appropriate precautions if you are away from people. Have a wonderful time.

@RelievedSheff you’ve moved on mate. I actually get why you want to be free of it all after that - must have got bad to get to the point of CCJ etc no judgement from me though. I thought things got bad for me when I had to refinance my btls and that’s def been a motivator - don’t want to end up there again. As I’ve said before only so many £100ks can be found and mitigated. When it’s cleared you’re going to be in a lot better position you’ve got the right mindset, enjoy the good things in life not so bothered about money. Tbh I think that’s an amazing position to be in.

Realistically you’re going to smash it once the cards are on the 0%. Then just letting the van finance tick down. Remember you said keep each other accountable ha you don’t need it mate, your mindset is incredible.
