Good job it's not the bank holiday weekend this week. Here's hoping for some good news. Enjoy your BBQ, great idea.

Sorry to hear of the troubles with the van, I can't believe they didn't send the BACS the day they took it in as part-ex! That's what should have happened in any case... Hope you get some kind of sweetener.

BBQ sounds ace, we haven't cracked ours out yet this year and I'm quite jealous!

I don't even know where we stand at the moment. The dealers have essentially sold us something that they don't even own!

I'm sure it will all come out in the wash and we will get there eventually but it isn't very professional of the dealership really.

Exactly this!! The previous owners have essentially been left with an open finance agreement since trade in.  It's totally wrong, and I agree, very unprofessional.

Given you've been searching so long for what you want it's worth waiting those extra few days I'm sure.

Not at all. And it isn't as though they are a small place. They have 13 branches across the UK!

To just rub salt into the wound a bit more the Asda delivery has just been an 90% of the stuff delivered was for the van so we now have all of that sat in the spare bedroom along with all the new bedding and other assorted stuff. It looks like a right junk room!!

We were thinking about this last night and with them paying off the finance, which was 2.5 years into a 10 year agreement on what had been a new van, they can't be making anything out of the deal at all. In fact with what we are paying and them having serviced and valeted it, it is probably costing them money 🤔

Someone somewhere has royally cocked up on their part. The figures just don't stack up at all.

It won't be a no spends day today. The other half will be getting us lunch and he will go to the farm shop to get the fruit and veg today.

Breakfast and dinner will be from stores though. Breakfast was pancakes and maple syrup and dinner tonight is goat burgers with sweet potato chips, beer battered onion rings and salad.

    Today's jobs include:
    • working from home (last day before I break up for a week)
    • vacuuming the house
    • dusting the house
    • load of washing (to hang out to dry)
    • walking the dog
Our gas and electric switched over to the new supplier yesterday. Looking forward to getting back to having reasonable bills again. Only slight downside is that the smart meter and in house display now don't work so it is back to submitting monthly meter readings. Not really a problem.

We are not holding out much hope for any news on the van today. We have resigned ourselves to the fact it will be delayed by a couple of days or so now which is disappointing to say the least.

I haven't submitted any meter readings since we changed over. Why someone can't invent a smart meter that will work for all suppliers I don't know. The meter we have belongs to Scottish Power but we're with Octopus now. I keep looking at the meter and can't work out how to read it!

Our smart meter is a British Gas one. Outfox the Market have said that they may be able to communicate with it, but nothing as yet. To be honest for the quite large difference in price of the energy I don't mind reading the meters once a month. I can still use the in house display to do that.
