@enthusiasticsaver @RelievedSheff Wow on £365 savings on car insurance, that's unreal.
I don't like overpaying for insurance so always ring them up and just lie about quotes online - take £50/100 off the actual quotes and see what they come back with... have to do all you can when you share a postcode area with St Ann's FML.3 -
@alt80 the new price is less than half the original renewal quote for that car. I can't believe that they actually get away with so many people not shopping around and getting better quotes!3

Another no spends day today.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was crumpets, the other half has taken his packed lunch to work, I think I might have a jacket potato and tuna for my lunch today and it's Friday so a Friday night fakeaway at home tonight. We have some nice pizza in the freezer so might make that with some chips and dips tonight along with a few beers on the sofa watching a couple of films.
Today's jobs include:- working from home
- vacuuming the house
- washing and drying the bedding and sticking it back on the bed (love fresh bedding for the weekend)
- walking the dog x 2

Another week of work finished. Happy Friday everyone and hope you all have a great weekend.
Now time to crack open a cold beer 🍺4 -
@RelievedSheff almost makes me think there was something wrong with the premium last year unless a claim / address change or something. You've reminded me to run a quote on the RR though. Joy of joys, ha. Particularly hate paying for insurances and council tax (£230/m to pick up some bins - don't feel I get anything else from it lol).
Have a good weekend.4 -
We thought our council tax was bad at £150 per month!
Sadly we have spent this evening trying to console the dog as some idiots have been setting fireworks off all night. Its going to be a long couple of weeks until after bonfire night for us 😡4 -
@RelievedSheff it's just yet another example of this: Earn well, do you? Want some nice things because you work hard? Aw, sweet, we'll be there to tax you to the hilt. 'Kind' ha Regards, BoJo. Next thing he's coming after companies with Corporation Tax hikes because you're automatically Bill f**king Gates if you've got a ltd haha.
They've also practically turned into some kind of tenant's rights pressure group. 6 months notice now FML. Why would I be issuing S8 unless they were a s**t tenant who either didn't pay their rent or were so disruptive they needed to be evicted for the sanity of their housemates / neighbourhood...?! Can almost guarantee the ones letting fireworks off TWO WEEKS before bonfire night are renters.

Going to be a bit spendy today I suspect. We have a few errands to run today.
We need to go into Sheffield to pick up the other half's medication he forgot to pick up yesterday. The whole point of having it delivered to his designated pharmacy is it is almost next door to where he works!
Then we need to go to the farm shop to pick up this weeks fruit and veg. Head into town to get loads of disinfectant and black bags before heading to the boat to get the holding tank flushed through and pumped out before fitting the new pump. This will be a messy smelly job.
After that horrible job is done it will be time to head home and take the dog for a long walk before tonight's fireworks start.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast, not sure for lunch yet but maybe soup and crusty bread and then I think a simple pasta dish with garlic bread this evening for dinner.3 -
Change of plan today. Its far too windy to move the boat around safely so that can wait until next weekend.

@RelievedSheff weather awful here too. Ok with working tbh with how bad it is haha.
Don’t envy the boat maintenance- are there such things as boat mechanics who can come out and fix it or did you want to save on the labour costs?Hope not too many fireworks we are very lucky our dog doesn’t care (gundog thing presumably). Not a chance would wife feed me all those carbs... probably why I read your food log with envy - I love pasta, nice bread from bakery etc.3
