@RelievedSheff Might go back up there sometime! Son would still like it and hardly breaking the bank for a day out lol. Got all the garden furniture we need haha so no danger of buying more.
Being in what looks like a new build you can put your own stamp on the garden - I’m disgraced how some developers leave them but have seen some great transformations over the years I’ve been valuing houses. Your looks like it’s already starting to take shape.I’ll second Warby - you seem to have an amazing life. Boat, new house you like, lots of nice weekends and clearing the debt. You’ve got it made.4 -
They didn't have much in the way of garden furniture out it was all Christmas stuff. Christmas stuff that you didn't know you need until you saw it
The house was new when we bought it last year. It was the stereotypical blank white box of a house with a blank canvas of a garden. Luckily the frontage is planted up quite nicely with a lovely hedge but the back garden definitely needs something doing to make it ours. We have gone through the house and put our stamp on it, time to bring the garden to life now we think. It is a nice little plot and very private which is unusual on a new build estate.
Life is pretty good at the minute. There are ups and downs along the way of course, but we are doing ok.4 -
@RelievedSheff haha heard that before re Christmas stuff! 😆
Always nice to see people enjoying their homes - kind of makes my work feel a bit more worthwhile at times lol.
You’re doing great! 👍 I doubt our paths would cross in real life socially - only really speak with property people / car people. Lots of chat about money and probably a lot of bs about where we all are really in life. Point is I really look forward to reading your diary because you’re so positive about life and aren’t self destructive - most people I know are to some extent.

Ah thank you.
We do try to find the positives in each day.
Don't beat yourself up though. You are doing great as well. Look back at your diary and see just how far you have come in such a short space of time. You should be proud of that.4 -
@RelievedSheff just through selling stuff really and forcing myself not to buy stuff. You’ve got the balance I’m just taking the punishment and trying not to lead myself into various temptations haha.4

The herb pots look great. I don't have much luck with growing herbs for some reason. I agree with the others, you do seem to have found the right balance between paying off debt and enjoying life.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

Hoping to do a bit better with these this time around. Not really the ideal time of year to be planting them but hopefully they will survive this winter.4 -
Most herbs will be fine over the winter. The only one which definitely won't be is basil but that will grow successfully in a pot on the window cill. I also prefer to do coriander in a pot indoors too. Rosemary and sage are very hardy. I think thyme might not be hardy enough to survive out side but not certain as never grown it.

Our last thyme was fine outside, that was pretty hardy. We just ate it too quickly.
Not got any basil as we didn't have any success with that previously.
Also not got any rosemary as sent the other half to pick that up and he came back with a herb that looked like rosemary but when we planted it realised it is in fact curry plant. It smells lovely if nothing else. Will have to get some rosemary as well though as we use a lot of that and the dog loves it!5 -
