Not a no spend day today. I have to buy the pump for the boat if we are going to fix it this coming weekend. Annoyingly as I had not budgeted for it I have had to put it on credit card 5. But I am going to aim to pay the extra off of that card next month so that we are no further behind with the balance.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores today. Cereals for breakfast, the other half has taken his packed lunch to work, I will rustle something up from the fridge and then we have chicken in black bean sauce with wholewheat noodles and spring rolls for dinner.
Today's jobs include:- working from home
- finding the best price for the pump and ordering the pump
- vacuuming the house
- cleaning the bathrooms
- walking the dog x 2

Don’t think it’s an issue if you’ve got a plan to pay off. Sure you probably don’t want to listen to my opinion on cards though haha. I put all my spends on a card still only difference now is it doesn’t stay on the card. I’m strangely looking forward to 26th when I can pay off the groceries / entertainment stuff we put on the card. Not sure I’ve ever cleared off a balance in its entirety but will do on the Amex on 26th - it’s an interest baring one but no interest if you pay the balance.
Always like reading your food diary. Sounds like I don’t eat anything lol but it’s nice to see what others eat no idea why I like reading them as I do no cooking so not for ideas.3 -
I know what you mean about putting unbudgeted stuff on credit cards. That would annoy me too. A no spend day today.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores today. Breakfast was toast, the other half has taken his packed lunch to work, I am having a salad for my lunch and dinner tonight is going to be a homemade fish pie with sweet potato and parsnip mash topping served with loads of fresh vegetables.
The window company are finally coming today to sort out the patio doors and a couple of dodgy window mechanisms which should hopefully finish off the last of our snagging on the house, unless anything else crops up before next April of course.
Today's jobs include:- working from home
- load of washing which will hopefully dry!
- dusting the house
- waiting for the chap to come to sort the windows and doors
- sorting out the other half's car insurance renewal
- sorting out my car insurance renewal
- walking the dog x 2

The window company were on the ball today. 8am and they were knocking on the door. Patio doors and windows now sorted which fingers crossed will be the last of our snagging on the house. Happy days.
Also found much cheaper quotes for both of our car insurance policies with savings of £75 on my policy and £365 on the other half's policy. So just need to cancel the renewals on our current policies when the call centre opens at 9am and sort out the new policies to start on the relevant dates.
I do love a good start to the day. It isn't even 9am yet6 -
I also enjoy sitting down and planning meals for the week 😁 Great work on the cheaper insurance quotes.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

That annoys me too when insurance companies match when you threaten to cancel. Why can't they just give you the best price to start with? Of course I know why, they just rely on their customers being lazy and just paying up which none of us on MSE do of course
