Those totals are looking pretty amazing right now even if it’s only temporary 😁

Oh it's only temporary. Give it a few months and I'm sure it won't look so healthy 🤣🤣🤣

Set the balls in motion with the Easter holiday refund this afternoon as well. So the savings account should look even better in the next couple of weeks,  on a temporary basis at least.

It's Friday and It's pay day. It's going to be a good day :)

It will be a no spends day today.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was toast, lunch will be some chicken curry from the freezer and dinner tonight is a pizza and a few beers on the sofa watching films.

    Today's jobs include:
    • working from home
    • load of washing (hung on the line to dry instead of using the dryer)
    • vacuuming the house
    • dusting the house
    • walking the dog x 2
The other half is off helping a friend move house again today. They are hoping that today's completion goes more smoothly than yesterdays which eventually completed at 4pm due to some missing paperwork. Unfortunately they have problems with the son's house that completed yesterday that will need sorting out by the solicitors. It has been left in a right state, with mouldy food left in cupboards, old furniture that should have been removed has just been left and it is just generally not been left in an acceptable state.

Fingers crossed today's move goes more smoothly and the house is actually habitable!!

Figures look great and payday here too.

What a shame re the house always amazes me how some vendors think it’s acceptable to leave a place (assuming it was previously recently occupied). 🙁 Anyway I hope he’s happy with his first home now he’s there. Hope today’s goes more smoothly.

The house had been a rental property and has been unoccupied for several months at least so there was really no excuse for the previous owner to not go in and clean it up. Part of the deal had been that the house should have been cleaned and cleared prior to completion. The other half was disappointed for him. They all pitched in and got the old furniture out and gave it a good scrub for him to try and make it feel more habitable. Hopefully last night he felt a bit more comfortable with the place.

We are pleased with how the figures are looking. We can see some progress being made which is enough to keep us motivated for now. Need to make some big inroads into Card 3 now and get that one cleared. Hoping to make some decent overpayments on that one in the next couple of months while we can.

Happy payday 🥳 How disgusting to leave a house in such a state. I hope he gets some sort of compensation for it. Not the best experience for his first house. When we sold our last house I spent a couple of days thoroughly cleaning it from top to bottom. The purchasers arrived just as we were locking up for the last time armed with cleaning gear declaring they were going to give it a good clean before they moved in. Charming!

We did the same with our last house even though we part exchanged it and knew it would be several months before the people buying from the developers would move in. We wouldn't dream of leaving a dirty house.

Anyway it is a beautiful morning out. Just been in the garden to hang out the washing and tidy up the herb garden and it is bathed in sunshine. Could have stayed out there all morning :)

If it stays dry this weekend we might have to cut the grass. It is getting ready for it's first cut of the year. This mild weather has set it off.
  • Many years ago we bought a house which should have been empty on completion. Instead, they had left quite a bit of furniture including a washing machine with rotting meat in!! Thankfully we had no plans to move in for a while as it needed restoring. It was foul.

Just spoken to the other half. It sounds like today's house move is going much more smoothly.

They have dropped one load off in the garden with the permission of the current home owner and have almost got the second truck load loaded.

They have had confirmation that the sale of friends current house has completed so they are now just waiting to say that the new house has completed and they can go and get the stuff in the house and off the patio!!

It will be a low spend day today.

We need to get some fruit and vegetables from the farm shop.

Breakfast and dinner will be from stores. Bacon and egg sandwich for breakfast and a slow cooked beef madras for dinner later with basmati rice, naan bread, samosa and onion bhaji.

Think we will grab some lunch while we are out.

It will be a sad day for us today as we go and put the paperwork on the boat and say goodbye for the last time. Will need a stiff drink later.

While we are at the boat we are going to take the dog for a good run with his ball on his favourite field near the marina. He will love that.
