It should be a no spends day today.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was cereals, lunch will be a jacket potato and dinner tonight is bangers and mash made with some lovely local venison sausages.

    Today's jobs include:
    • working from home
    • cleaning the bathrooms
    • completing the boat sale and associated paperwork
    • walking the dog x 2
The other half is going to be having a busy couple of days. He is helping a close friend and her son move into their new houses. Today it is the son's turn he is moving into his first house. We have trawled through the Covid guidance and have come to the conclusion that he is allowed to help them move house.

I suppose OH helping out with the house moves is only like someone coming to your house to paint or whatever. It's daft really that you're allowed to have someone in your house to do work but not to socialise.

Hope all goes smoothly with the move and with the boat transfer. Are you going to see it for the final time or has that been and gone?

We will have to pop across at the weekend to leave the paperwork and keys on it and make sure it has enough electric on the bollard to see them through to the end of March when it is getting picked up to transport it to it's new mooring.
  • Well that's it. The deed is done and we are officially boatless.

End of an era, start of a new one.
Very glad its gone smoothly for you and hope the timings work for the van next.
  • I feel strangely relieved that it is gone which I wasn't expecting!

I’m glad it’s all gone through ok 👍

  • Happy for you that it all worked out OK! I don't think the relief is strange at all - the process of parting with something with strong emotional attachments is stressful in itself, but the chapter is closed and it's one less financial responsibility to juggle.

Glad to hear all has gone smoothly. Definitely end of an era with how long you’ve owned the boat for. Hopefully you’ll find the right van soon.
