Just googled the NG4 post code and can't believe how close we were to you both
Don't think we could have gotten much closer by boat!!4 -
You wouldn’t have got the boat up the hills round here 🤣I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

Just saved a few quid a month.
Just had a local window cleaners knock on the door and their price was £3 cheaper (every four weeks) than the company that currently do them who we are not entirely happy with.
So I have booked them in and cancelled the other guys who were not local but a national company. Would much rather give a local company our money.4 -
@Sun_Addict Good grief it really is a small world! Are we all spending addicts in Notts?! Haha.
@RelievedSheff I thought they were going to split it by postcode areas tbh so knew I was going to be in lockdown but whole of city and county seems ridiculous imo. Wife spent an hour trying to work out if she can meet up with people in cafes or just not at home haha. 100% think it’s the unis - basically every student city with a good nightlife apart from Bristol is now in lockdown. Not sure it’s reflected in death rates at all, could be wrong as I’m not really following too much.

£200 paid off credit card 3 today.
Our home shopping delivery was delivered yesterday so we are stocked up again now for a couple of weeks with the exception of some fruit and veg from the farm shop at the weekend.
Planning a no spends day today. Breakfast, lunch and dinner from stores. We had cereals this morning, the other half has taken his packed lunch to work, I have some left over filling from last night's shepherd's pie for my lunch. Think I will have this in a Yorkshire pudding, home made of course and then we have a slow cooked beef jalfrezi for dinner tonight.
I am keeping a close eye (no pun intended) on the dog today as we are not sure if he has a problem with one of his eyes or not. He is a bit of a clown and plays up to an audience so it is difficult to tell of he is putting something on or if he really is struggling a bit with it. It doesn't look red or inflamed but he is tending to close the one eye or squint with it but not all the time.
Today's jobs include:- Working from home. (Full day at home today unless I have to visit the vets)
- Vacuuming the house
- Cleaning the bathrooms
- Putting the curry in the slow cooker
- Walking the dog x 2

I tend to agree with you that the universities do seem to be where the alarmingly high number of cases are occurring. But what did they really expect? If you bring lots of people together from across the country then of course there is going to be an increase in cases.
Sadly death rates are increasing. But the death rates tend to lag a few weeks behind the rise in cases so they are only going to get worse as the weeks march on. Yesterday's death rate was the worst since June!4 -
@RelievedSheff they don’t want us city scum going out into the villages to meet up for coffee lol.

At the risk of sounding antisocial, I don't think the new restrictions will really make that much difference too us at this time of the year anyway. It is the time of the year where we start to wind our boating outings down so we won't meet up with as many friends that way and we have been keeping in contact with other friends and family via phone and web chats so we will just keep doing that. Can't see us going to the pub too often while we are at home either. We only tend to have a couple of lunch time drinks if we do go anyway just us and the dog.
It is Christmas time that will be the hard time as we usually have family over. We have not seen the other halves mum since last Christmas when they came to stay for a few days so we were looking forward to doing the same again this year. I really can't see us being allowed to do that this year. They are in an area of Scotland with strict restrictions, no pubs open for them!4 -
We must be antisocial too, very little will change for us on a day to day basis, we have been catching up with friends and family online/phone/video chat it would be lovely to be with them but the technology is making such a difference.
Christmas will be very different, usually, we spend it with my parents playing games, watching films, doing jigsaws, going to watch the pantomime, ds (15 yo) has already it is going to be different and he will not be able to be with his grandparents 😢Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases
One income, home educating family3 -
Only thing changing here no meet ups socially. Wife and I were talking about this - I still go to tenants’ and sorry Boris but you’re not living in the real world if you think a house full of tenants who don’t give a f**k are socially distancing/ mask wearing etc and not a chance I’m leaving the inspections in those properties. If they think you’ve given an inch they’ll take a mile before you know it no rent paid and a bs system where you can’t get them out. So... do you risk Covid or tenants taking the p*ss?!?
Hoping this doesn’t go on til Christmas wife is going to be devastated if she can’t see her parents for Xmas and not fair on son to not see his grandparents either. He only sees wife’s side as it is.2
