Weird. I don't have an RBS card reader but I could register "a card reader", by just using one of the ones I have lying about.ischris85 said:colsten said:
I dimly remember this might have something to do with you not having registered a card reader yet. As soon as you have your card, you can do this with any Natwest / Nationwide / Barclays / COOP card reader; it doesn't have to be an RBS one.ischris85 said:I've managed to create an online account, but each time I login I am put in restrictive mode. Anyone else have this issue?
There is also this:

Thanks Colsten. Yes, I have a NatWest card reader but enabling a card reader on RBOS is currently not available, I guess because a card reader has only just been sent out.
If you think you need an RBS one, you need to order it. I don't think they send one automatically - they certainly didn't send me one (and I don't want one, either, as I have got too many as it is).

Incase anyone else is having a similar issue, RBOS customer services told me it takes around 3 working days to fully setup your account.

Have I understood the Select a/c offer right, to get £100 switching there's no monthly pay-in needed you just have to pay in £1500 once by the end of the year (and could presumably withdraw the same day?) and log into the app once by 30 December?

Edit - ignore me I was talking about the reward offer.kuepper said:Have I understood the Select a/c offer right, to get £100 switching there's no monthly pay-in needed you just have to pay in £1500 once by the end of the year (and could presumably withdraw the same day?) and log into the app once by 30 December?

Same here. Application went through ok on Saturday after a few failed attempts to find my address.dggar said:
My application went through without a problem but I don't think a sort code or account number a assigned at this point.(Unlike Halifax).Yorkshire_Pud said:
I wrote down the reference number, error code, and time, I don’t think I got an application number, nor did it show an account number or sort code.ischris85 said:
I'd say wait a day or so to see if you receive an email/text. Did you write down the application number?Yorkshire_Pud said:I filled in the whole online application form even up to inputting all my switch account details and saying I qualify for an account only to click next and get a message, “Sorry something’s gone wrong”
Have an error code but not sure what to do next....,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
After a couple of days I had a form posted to me to sign and later that day had an eMail with the same form for an electronic signature.
Both said if I'd completed one I didn't need to do the other.
On that form there was a Sort Code but no Account Number.
In this morning's post, dated 5th Sept, a letter asking for my signature.
Also this morning, email asking me to log into Digidocs to upload ID & E signature. Kept getting error message until I requested forgotten password reset (as a previous sufferer of NatWest Digidocs). Managed to upload ID & complete Esign form but while the 'processing' wheel was still spinning, I had email to say docs had arrived safely and"We will use this information to carry out our further checks and to progress your application. This takes 3-5 days but will only take place once we've received all the information from all parties involved.
If you have provided your required documents and signed any requested forms online, you don't need to provide this again by post or in branch".
I do remember the NatWest application being similarly convoluted. Still, £100 is £100.
Text today re address updated0 -
Interestingly, I just applied for a £500 overdraft with RBS and got rejected even though I currently have one with Natwest.

Can I switch a BOS account to RBS?I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.0
