Round I have been terrible about DS going back to work, I went through of phase of not sleeping because I was worried about him not getting up on time (which is ridiculous because he is 21 and if he sleeps in that's his problem!). I also fret about him leaving late and driving to work in a rush half asleep. I am slowly getting better but I still listen for the kettle which means I know he is up and has plenty of time for a cuppa before he leaves.
So, because DS works Saturdays I heard him leave before half six, but thats OK because we were all tucked up in bed by 10pm last night! Up, teatowels set going in a boil wash, DW on, kitchen tidied, exercise class done, windows flung open. DH has also gone to work so I am going to fly for a bit. I could do to go to the shop but need to make a list.
Doggie is asleep on the sofa next to me all four paws twitching madly, thinking he is running somewhere in his dreams.
Right, shower and then on with the day.11 -
Not just me then YL. That's good to know - but I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I think DS is working through the fallout of the sudden awful end to his last job - it knocked his confidence badly but he didn't have to 'deal' with it while he was safely ensconced in his bedroom. Now he is worried sick that he won't be 'good enough'. If I could get hold of his last 'manager' I would cheerfully strangle her - DS still brings out the Mama Bear in me. And you and your DS have been through far more turmoil than us -
Round 1 completed + sloshed bleach down the loo, washed and recycled a couple more plastic bits, set first load swishing. took down birthday banners and reloaded the bowl with pots.
Mr M is due between 10 and 11. I think my next job will be to sort out my birthday flowers - refresh water, remove dead flowers and maybe downsize from 5 vases (ok 3 vases, a jug, and the plastic bag of water that one bunch arrived in) to 3 vases (3 vases being the sum total of vases in this house). Such riches - I can remember having to borrow a vase from Mum every time anyone bought me flowers. I also remember the first vase I ever bought - and the back wheel on my car seized up on the way home....that was one very expensive vase!!!!

Morning all,
Been up quite a while, various jobs done and the house is presentable. We've been on a short walk, but a longer one is on the cards this afternoon provided the rain clears off. Back into work for me on Monday so life goes properly back to 'normal' in terms of daily routine etc.Easy dinner of chilli that has already been made for dinner. Will also do a bit more admin this afternoon and maybe watch a film.
Big hugs to all xx10 -
Back laptop cable died completely, put on old laptop but is was sooooooooooooooooo slow, I didn't even attempt to get on this site. I now have an entire wardrobe filled with handbags and shoes. *happy dance*
This means my previous wardrobe can now be accessed more easily. I've also moved a small bookcase into the back bedroom. And the small wardrobe from my room has gone into DDs room.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Hi all
Just reporting in, bathroom has been scrubbed, including tiles, bath taps attacked with Vikal and a 2p coin - we have an overbath shower so they are always limescaley, floor washed and units wiped down. Shiny bits polished. Our bedroom dusted and hoovered properly, which meant moving things! DS2s bedroom has had a quick dust and hoover, landing also dusted and hoovered, filthy banister rail dealt with. 2 loads of washing in, have just put some jumpers on a quick wash. Front door cleaned inside and out.
I have a rather nice chair in our bedroom and now that I have cleared some clothes out of my wardrobe there should be no need to use the chair as a clothing receptacle. So I gave it a good hoover and sat down, pondering how long it is since I have actually used the chair for its intended purpose. Anyhow, the mission now is to keep it clutter free!
Going to make pizza for tea, will put the dough mix in the breadmaker in about an hour.
Next I am on to the kitchen (which isnt too bad), utility, ds loo and my office, but a tea break first.8 -
Today has consisted of walks, gardening, one load of washing, dailies and knitting.Spend less now, work less later.8

Back from the outlaws last night.. I vacuumed right through for MIL before we left so it was nice and clean and we hadn't left a bear pit.
6 x WM .. most is dry and away already.2 x TD3 x DW
My hallway carpet is squelchy with cat wee.. it was NOT like that when we left but no one had cleaned the trays while we were gone so they just used the floor... I am LIVID!!! I now have a carpet to scrub to within an inch of its stinking life..
I've a few more ebeasty parcels to post, a prescription to collect and a stuffed up nose.. I can't smell a thing which given the state of the floor is probably a good thing.. I am tipping carpet shampoo on it now the girls are in bed and will get the carpet washer out in the morning,
While we have been away they have lost the back door keys so now we can not lock either the front nor the back doors so I am less than impressed with that too.
OH has a tip run on Tuesday with 2 dead mattresses and I have 2 amazon returns being collected on Monday.

Good evening 😁
Well done Narc0 on the run. I haven't run at all for about 2 weeks!
Today disappeared too quickly! I managed WM x2, which is now dry & folded, put on DW, which DH emptied. I did a small food shop, but spent over £80!!! 😱 I did buy a new kettle as the old one had limescale crusted on the outside where it leaked somehow, and an anniversary card & some choccies for DH as it is our anniversary tomorrow. Oh, and some steak for DS and me for dinner, which was delish!
My mum came to visit and we went to the allotment. I have now cleared a 6 foot strip along one side, which looks better. Mum picked some tomatoes & pottered about, just keeping me company really 😊 She couldn't do much because the kneeler she uses has gone missing. I left it out last Saturday when I left quickly as it started raining heavily, along with a very useful weeding tool. I am hoping my neighbour saw it and has it safely in his shed, but I am not holding out too much hope of that 😥
Round I am glad DS had a better day at work.
Night night everyone!7 -
