Just realised another thing from the plans and the pictures
To get out you have the front door or the door in the corner of the conservatory by the kitchen door leading onto the small area at the bottom of the spiral where there is a door to the undercroft, from there it is steps down to the next lower level.

I think I prefer the garden as patio.

Picture 1 from the listing makes it look like this bit of land has already been built on.getmore4less said:Who owns the land between 15 and 15 a that has cars parked on it, that is a potential building plot with a bit of garden from the hillside rise properties.0 -
Thanks. Some very useful information and floor plans. The land between 15 and 15a is owned by the cottages at the back as they have no direct access so that was put in for parkinggetmore4less said:Looking at the plans it is a 3 bed with 4th/diner/office
If it is 15a then it had a side extension in 2008 to build the car port.

The floor plans are in docs(518122) (link may not work)
The land behind the carport is not part of the garden
NO picture of the undecroft/work shop
looks like the train set is in the bedroom on the living room floor
master bed is spacious

Absolutely correct. The land the house stands on originally belonged to two cottages at the back. The two cottages were amalgamated by the previous owners who then decided to build a house for themselves on the land in the garden and then sell the amalgamated cottage with a smaller garden. The car port was added a year later when the owners purchased some land from another cottage at the back. The land at the side is used for car parking for 77-81.getmore4less said:
The bit of garden behind the workshop looks like it belongs the house as the back(see if this link works), same on the other side at the lower level a big patch belonging to the lower level housesNinjaTune said:I'm thoroughly confused by it all, a floor plan would definitely help people work out what is where and how the house flows.
The picture of the back of the house especially confuses me. Why do you have a garden that appears to only be half the width of your property? Who owns the part on the other side of the fence? Why does the spiral staircase from the car port not appear to end up in your garden? Where are the photos of the workshop?
I suspect what has happened a long time ago is the patch at the top of the hill that 15 and this one 15a sit on( with the concrete patch between) may have belonged to the houses below and that bit in the middle was retained for the lower houses parking(they only have a foot path to the fronts) there appears to be a footpath down the side of 15 and to the back of the lower houses(77-81) in the plans from the planning permission for the car port (if the link works if not check the planning)The Cabbage

Yes its not a 'pretty' house from the front, looks nice inside but the beauty lies in the fabulous views at the back . Its in a quiet area, not on an estate etc so like you (and us) we saw beyond the brick frontage but not everyone can and I appreciate that.GDB2222 said:I bought a house in 1992 that had dreadful photos on the blurb from the estate agents. It was not a pretty house, but it was a lot better than their photos. I was one of the very few people to view it, and mine was the only offer. It turned out to be a fabulous family home, and a tremendous bargain. The Cabbage

here is the plan of the site before 15a was built
no sign of the planning app for the house before the extention.

It is really expensive and there are much better detached houses with garages in the area for the same money.

I think that is what they paid for it, six years ago? Since then the economic outlook has darkened considerably, can`t see it being worth much more TBH, but you never know.comeandgo said:
I would never view a property I did not like the look of or they had not even bothered to market it properly. This property ticks none of my boxes so I would not view it even if it was priced at £200,000.GDB2222 said:I am confused about people saying that they wouldn’t view the property, just based on the rightmove listing. Surely, if spending £300k, you would view all the possible properties before deciding? Or is that just me?0
