Bon Prix Problems

We have ordered some items with Bon Prix (Uk). They took the money a few days after the order. They said delivery was upto 10 days. It's been a month now and still no order!

We have tried several times to ring them but either
a) A recorded message says they are busy, please call back and cuts you off
b) They keep you on hold indefinately

I have tried to email them via there website.

The items were bought via a Nationwide Debit card

I found this review on the web:

"Absolutely terrible and will not shop with them again!!!Ordered clothes on june 4th, they took payment on the 6th. 2 weeks later i rang them to find out where order was-was told that delivery was usually 10-14 days and to just hang on another couple of days as it had been dispatched 5 days earlier. 4 days later no clothes had arrived so rang again.told to wait a couple of days as ''courier is probably hanging onto them'. courier is a friend of mine so i know she hadn't got them.i've worked as acourier and theres no way you would want to have other peoples parcels cluttering up your home.rang again and told them to cancel order and give me a full refund.i was told they would send a lost parcel form for me to fill in straight away but i couldnt have an immediate refund until they got the parcel back-which would take 3 weeks!!had a row with them and told them they were quick enough taking my money and i wanted it back as quick. no joy.4 days later no sign of lost parcel form so wrote to them.2 days later 2 forms arrive followed by parcels!! i refused parcels as i had cancelled the order and returned form. 1 week later-still no refund. rang again and was told that until the refused parcels were received i couldnt have refund. told them that as order had been cancelled it wasnt my fault . The main problem is that customer services and the warehouse are in the uk but head office are in france so everytime i rang i just got told that they would have to email head office and get back to me which they never did. 3 months on they still owe me half of my money so i've managed to get head offices address and will contact them for a full refund plus compensation. NEVER AGAIN!!!!"

Has anyone else had this problem?
What are our consumer rights here?

Finally, got through today after 3 tries - 0870 number so 7p per min.

Said should have been delivered last week, will need to speak to courier company and get back to me. It convinced me that they have no idea where our package is.

Spoke to manager for refund and they said we would have to fill out a 'lost package form'. Complained saying wanted refund immediately but no joy.

Does anyone know my Consumer Rights here? Do I have to fill out there forms or should they be able to do an immediate refund. I have a feeling that others have been fobbed off this way.
  • it annoys me when catalogue parcels don't arrive and they seem to act as if you are a liar - I had to fill in two forms and wait weeks for refund with one catalogue company when a parcel never arrived.

Was that Bon Prix by any chance?
  • It took Bon Prix about 3 weeks to deliver my stuff and when it eventually was delivered I was very dissapointed with the quality of the clothing.

I arranged for a courier to pick the package up (unfortunately you can't return their stuff at the Post Office) they didn't show up on the designated day so I rang them and they made another date to pick it up, they still didn't show, so I rang them again and said it was the second time now they hadn't picked the parcel up, so they made another appointment and told me it would definately be picked up this time and it was, third time lucky.

I waited a couple of weeks and was only refunded for 2 out of 7 items, 5 items had gone missing so I had to fill out a claim form, it took another couple of weeks to finally get a full refund.

I would never order from them again, it was an awful experience.

    Thanks MissMassEffect for your feedback

We have just started the refund process - asked them a week ago for a form - not turned up yet and will ring them again nxt week. What a farce!

Can anyone let me know what our consumer rights are?
  • Contacted them again this Monday as no form received - said its sent from France and sent last week - complained again

Hopefully it'll show up soon, if not make sure you keep on at them, I swear some of these companies think we will just give up and go away if they leave us long enough.
