Evans Halshaw - Admin Fee

Yes.sweetsand said:what are you trying to say that you want the 99 pounds charged included in the OTR in a different way??
The £99 admin fee on cars is entirely dishonest.
It would be like going to the supermarket, getting the basket of shopping and then the shop puts everything through the till and adds a "check-out fee"2 -
It's sharp practice from motor dealerships that have a poor reputation, whether that be arnold clark, evans halshaw or others. You now seem to be supporting these dealers as opposed to innocent consumers, I believe you thought AC would remedy a problem in a previous thread when we all know that is extremely unlikely. People shouldn't pay these fees but unfortunately some do when they should walk away and if all did then the admin fee would no longer be applied.sweetsand said:
Incredibel! I hope you are not being serious, really. The "zero" you refer to is 99 pounds. The dealer has every right to charge that and that is a fact. The buyer can go elsewhere and that too is as real as it gets. So what are you trying to say that you want the 99 pounds charged included in the OTR in a different way?? How do you knw the admin fee is not costing that you are just guessing again. Many dealers of used cars do that and if you no like e, go to another, simple as it can get.Scrapit said:
Wow, missed the point again didnt you?sweetsand said:
You don't think its correct to charge them. They run a business and the buyer has the option to either go to one that clearly states it or another that includes it in their best on the road price. Priceless.Grumpy_chap said:The admin fees are legal.
I don't think it is correct to charge them.
The point is there is no reason(zero, nada, zilch) to charge this. There isnt 99 pounds stirling worth of admin to do on a car sale. Ever.1 -
Admin fees are another profit centre for the dealer.
The admin they 'make' the customer pay for is all stuff they need to do in order to comply with their legal obligations when selling a car. The admin staff are not paid piece rate, they are salaried and doing the job anyway.
Refuse to pay. They will reduce the price by £99 and charge the admin fee back in.1 -
When you actually get round to buying a car, you'll find more dont charge and admin fee.sweetsand said:

"Dishonest" as in fraud by the dealer, surely not my friend as it is clearly there so you either buy or you don't, you get that.Grumpy_chap said:

You saying its "dishonest" do you know what the word means?-1 -
I suppose that whether they remove it or not depends on a. how insistent you are and b. how much they want to sell the car. I wouldn't pay but accept I might have to go elsewhere. If you sell any product there are costs. Last time I shopped in Tesco they didn't add an admin charge and nor did John Lewis or Curry's (and they wouldn't win angel retailer of the year). It is bad marketing not least because it gets up people's noses.2

True but its not "dishonest" as someone said here is it?timwalker said:Admin fees are another profit centre for the dealer.

where is your evidence against EH that the delaership has a poor rep as you have stated? Is it just a guess because they charge an admin fee like many used car sales that sell thousands of car? Where is your proof re your assertion?bigadaj said:
