i havent worked since september 2018 this is around the time i had the stroke theres been no contributions since then 2017 2018 was a partial year
So no entitlement to contribution based ESA but I think there will be an entitlement to income based ESA. You should apply - you are going to need to anyway in order to establish Limited Capability for Work which is required to get NI credits.
    https://www.gov.uk/employment-support-allowance/how-to-claim
You will need to ring 0800 169 0350 to claim.
Your ESA entitlement will include the SDP. I calculate that, even though your pension and IIDB will be deducted from your ESA entitlement, during the ESA Assessment Phase you will be entitled to about £60/week of ESA and if put into the Support Group this will rise to £99. You can request 3 month backdating when you claim provided your GP will issue you a backdated Fit Note to cover this period.

Thanks again could you please tell me how you came to the 60 and 99 pound figures ive done a benefits check on this site and it only came up with housing bennefit nothing on esa im not great with working stuff out now so probably didnt do it properly  cheers

industrial injuries benefit which is 72 pound a week and a small private pension from british coal for around 25 pound a week thats my incomings i dont pay rent or poll tax

These 2 benefits will be deducted £1 for £1 from your ESA entitlement. That's how Calcotti came to that figure of £60 per week.
    Worked out as follows.
    ESA assessment rate £74.35 + SDP £66.95 + EDP £17.10 = £158.40 - IIB £72 - £25 pension.
Total ESA amount £61.40 per week.
You will need to apply for the Severe disability premium (SDP) once your ESA is in payment. Just ring ESA?DWP to apply over the phone.

It's Enhanced disability premium paid because you're claiming Enhanced daily living PIP. SDP is also payable when claiming certain means tested benefits such as Income Related ESA, as previously advised in this thread. It's paid because you're living alone, no claims Carers allowance for looking after you and you're claiming PIP daily living.
SDP doesn't pay for your housing benefit. It's part of the claim.

SDP is not part of PIP and isn't paid with it. SDP is part of housing benefit but it's not actually paid, it's just aprt of the claim. SDP is a benefit on it own that's paid as part of another benefit, with the criteria mentioned above in a previous comment. When you claim the SDP as part of your ESA then you should ring and ask to fill out the IS10 form for SDP, it's a very quick claim that usually takes about a week to put into payment. It's then paid in with your ESA payments, fortnighytly.
