im waiting for a phonecall from the new claims team 24 to 48 hour turn around apparantly, i think i might as well apply for universal credit as well going off tge advice from you guys it sounds like the better option if it pays my contributions
If you're receiving the SDP in your Housing Benefit you actually can't apply for UC yet. ESA gives you NI credits like UC does (I'm not sure if IR-ESA gives class 1 or class 3, but if you can't work and pay actual contributions then realistically there's no difference between them, as far as I can make out).

No. You cannot apply for UC because if you have the SDP in your HB. You said you have applied for income based ESA. With the SDP that will pay you more than UC would (if you were allowed to apply).
ESA will give you Class 1 NI credits, if you were to claim UC you would get Class 3 contributions. Both are equal in terms of State Pension.

Severe Disability Premium. You are entitled to have this included in the calculation of means tested benefits such as HB and ESA if you live alone, receive Daily Living PIP and no one claims Carer’s Allowance for looking after you.
if you are entitled to SDP currently you can claim income based ESA and are not permitted to claim UC.

You don't see the extra money because it's included in the calculation of your housing benefit entitlement. You cna't claim UC because of the SDP.

You are referring to the make up of your PIP award. As explained you get SDP in other means tested benefits if you meet the conditions I set out in my previous reply. SDP is not part of your PIP award.
