Hi all, after a busy weekend away i've spent £34.17 at the cheap whole sale shop that I absolutely love! Minus £5.50 spent on oven dishes for the new house (bargain!) that brings me to a total of £28.67 for both mine and Mr Compets food (he was at his mums for the weekend!).
Now i'm back the fridge is a little bare so defo some stock up needed. Mainly all fridge stuff as freezer is full!
Looking good for our total this month. May have to have a few bottles of bubbly if we get the house as planned on friday!! Keep everything crossed for us please!Officially a homeowner 🥳🥳

Hello all, am relieved to see I'm not the only person running very short towards the end of the month which makes me feel a small amount more competent. Feel like I spent the weekend chanting "I will not go into any shops" to myself. It sort of worked but ........
Had to do a top up shop for milk, carrots, radishes and cranberry juice this morning and plunged for some frozen veg just in case so the panic buying is partly down to me, sorry. Anyway I spent £7.60 which brings me up to £150.20/£200 with a fortnight to go.
Good wishes to all and everything is crossed for those who need it, goldfinches.5 -
A very good month for us. That said, the students have gone back to uni and the constant grazing has subsided. I’ve spent £357.63/£400. The annual budget is on the brink but if I have a frugal October, we will be back on track. Cupboards and freezer stocks are healthy and, apart from bread, milk and fresh fruit/veg, I’ve meal planned to the end of the month.
see you on the October thread.6 -
A couple of spends to log! £24.99 last week (does include £10 on vodka which I'm infusing with strawberries, so hopefully that turns out ok!) and £15.99 this week. Going to do a big shop this weekend - my flatmate has injured his foot so can't walk to the shops. We're doing an online food shop but I always end up buying loads to make it seem justified - think next week's declaration will be a bit painful!Grocery Challenge

I way overspent again this month
I had run down a lot of tins and things and didn't really know where I was stock wise, so I now have a spreadsheet. I know, perhaps a little over the top, but it does mean I can quickly see what I have in and what I need to get. After today's announcement - whilst I am pleased that things are tightening up a bit (in my small country town it's like there was never a virus the way people are acting!) - I wonder how much people will comply and of course the threat of a stricter lockdown looms. So I just want to make sure I don't run out of stuff. Not panic buying, just ensuring my normal stocks are good. I need to do the same with cleaning, toiletries etc so I'll do a little stock of that in October's budget - don't think I need loads but I like to use S00perdrug for things like soap, deoderant, shower gel etc as their own brand is vegan, cruelty free, and cheap, and I don't have one easily accessible near me.

Had to go into S..by's to get kitchen roll and non-bio washing powder and M&S for yoghurt and yet more radishes and of course succumbed to some y/s bargains while I was there so that little lot came to £12.18 which brings me up to £162.38/£200 and the end is in sight. I'm so glad October is going to be such a short month. Night all and sweet dreams, goldfinches."She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."

Early grocery shop in unusually go on Friday. On budget and picked up 4 share Pouches of lilly o brien chocolate treats (short dated) for 50p each instead of RRP £2.99 each
So all spent out except for the cash for a 4 pinter with 9 days to go.
Will see what happens and what we need. I will be impressed if I can stick/have stuck to budget
