Got all the beds stripped and washed today, the duvet covers and sheets all dried in half an hour it is so warm
Still no shopping needed apart from eggs I am down to 10, but we use a lot of eggs in his house plus milk and veg which DH will get on Saturday.
Garden veggies are doing well so that keeps the food costs down.
DH wants me to make him D&D's Apple Braid tomorrow and I have some apples that need using up so he will get his wish.
Dinner tonight is Wartime Homity pie and Salad, already got potatoes, an egg, apples, home grown garlic and cheese, no leeks but I have some spring onions in the freezer so I will use them instead and I will make the pastry using the Stork that I got cheaply in Farmfoods.
Just tomorrow left to cook and then we are living from the prepped meal list so I think that I will be on target with my budget, I will try and post before the end of the month to let you know October's budget which will be larger because I will be getting things in for Christmas eeeeeeek
Please don't mention the C-word. I just want to pretend we're still in summer. One colleague went to the shops at lunchtime today and reported that "The Range" already had their Christmas stuff out!

my father in law has offered to take my husband shopping and buy us a big shop. We aren’t struggling financially that bad just yet. My husband issue back on the Spanish furlong scheme but I think his dad is worried it might take time to come through and just wants to help out with things like nappies, long life items etc. Should I count this spend too? What would you all do?Grocery Challenge 2024

Thanks for your good wishes everyone, I hope it won't keep me down for too long, it seems like it has come around really quickly I have to be there at 7am so early night for me.
DH and DS are more worried than I am, mainly because all the housework, cooking and washing is going to be down to them for quite a while, I remember my last op when I was only laid up for 2 weeks and it took me three weeks to get the house back to normal!
But I am going to be good and try not to nag too much
Another NSD because I am shielding, I have written next week's shopping list which won't be much, mainly fresh stuff like milk and eggs and coffee...................I can't survive without my coffee LOL, but it is a big bite out of the budget, but saying that a jar lasts me for two weeks
October is going to be really tight, too much to be laid out on other things like boiler service, chimney sweep, car insurance and, zoo membership eek! I will have to count my pennies.
Dinner tonight is chicken with salad and homemade vegetable rice
Take care all and I hope to be back soon x
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Cat is still being a pain about his food, tried swapping him to Morries tinned and never seen so many temper tantrums. Persevering as a £5 multipack, looks like I'll be putting him back on T*sco own brand again.
Apart from that, budget has lasted really well, might have been due to using the Lid! £5 coupon towards the end of August and the overspent budget!. Just done a shop to last the rest of the month between Morries and T*sco topping up meat, veg and Morries cat food
£30 spent, £13.44 left until month end.

Weekly top up shop today. Milk, bread, yoghurt, pilchards, (how to we eat so many?) Also Tesco has bread flour at 60p for 1.5kg. Bought six, I've been looking for bread flour for weeks, was really pleased with the price till I went into Lidl, they had some in at 55p, typical! Also bought two sacks of potatoes, £10 for two 25kg sacks. Total today £37.14, so total for September so far is £123.72/£200. Hugs to all those who need one, mumtoomany.Frugal Living Challenge 2025.6
