Brought a can of drink well 2 and a 4 pinter so another £2.19 to be deducted from next week's budget, anyway on wards and upwards.
Roll on next week seems to be a mid month drag. No idea what we are eating tomorrow but I'm sure the freezer will provide.

Spent £10.65 on milk, yoghurt, cranberry juice, carrots, radishes and tomatoes today bringing me to £132.60/£200. Also snapped up some y/s new potatoes as well and will add them to the slow cooker in the next few days. Had a horrid wobble by the snack shelves and wasted £1 on onion rings which weren't even very nice; think I'm just feeling fed up with being me and should like to be someone else for a while, preferably someone wealthier! Anyway, off to bed now, night all and sweet dreams, goldfinches.10

Budgets updated to here
@PipneyJane well done on your amazing surplus! I've updated your budget
@sarahj1986 welcome back!
@zafiro1984 no problem - I tend to leave names on for a few months or if they are regulars, even if they don't declare for a bit - it just makes it a bit quicker and easier for me doing the budgets!
@taka welcome back!
@VickyV welcome!
@Pixiehouse55 - £300
€44.14 spent today
I’ve bought some meat, salad stuff, veg, fruit, eggs, frozen bits, crate of beer for my husband, pasta, bin bags, milk, big block of spanish cheese and cheddar cheese. This should do us a week although I need to go back in tomorrow to get water and some fizzy pop. I couldn’t carry it all in one go.€305.86 left
picked up water and mozzy plug in as I’m being eaten alive. I do get bitten anyway but even more so now there’s no tourists round.€297.86 left
€11.09 in Mercadona and €45.01 in Aldi
Mercadona small shop because we’ve moved further away from them and there is a few items I like to get from there. We were up that way so stocked upAldi was a top up on fruit, potatoes, milk, yogurts, Porridge, sugar, chicken on offer, nappies, fizzy pop and beer for my husband. Shouldn’t need to go back in there until mid next week for more fresh items. They’ve changed the offer days and there’s things I want to buy on Wednesday so I’ll be able to hold out until then.Edit - got a slow cooker from a charity shop yesterday. They are incredibly expensive here so it was a snatch. Bring on the colder months for stews€241.76
fruit, veg, milk, breakfast items, chocolate, cakes and a few other items.€193.56 left
i have a question for you all -
my father in law has offered to take my husband shopping and buy us a big shop. We aren’t struggling financially that bad just yet. My husband issue back on the Spanish furlong scheme but I think his dad is worried it might take time to come through and just wants to help out with things like nappies, long life items etc. Should I count this spend too? What would you all do?€25.05 spent
this is topping up water, fruit, veg plus some items on special offer over 3 small shops. My father in law is taking hubby and our daughter tomorrow so writing a list now. I’ll have a few precious hours to do the housework while they are gone
€168.51 left
As commented previously. Hubby went with his dad yesterday and spent “€140” and got a lot of bulk items (milk, nappies, wipes, toilet rolls etc), some we won’t need to top up for a good 4-6+ weeks, freezer, fridge and other cupboard items. It will help us out greatly.€28.51 left which is more than enough for fresh items and other bits this month:money::rotfl::T8 -
YS luck today.
Wholemeal bread, fruit loaf, paninis, quorn sausages and fillets, tomato salad, hummus, and 2 vegan sarnies for breakfast and lunch tomorrow, all for under £4.
I have an order arriving from wholefood coop on Sunday; mainly cupboard bits like packet nuts roasts, nuts and custard powder. I think its time to stop stockpiling as I am almost out of room, unless I let things get messy; but that drives me mad.
I'll then have about £3 to get to month end but that should be fine.2021 GC £1365.71/ £24006 -
Tesco delivery yesterday with the essential cat food for the fussy furry owner, £57.45 spent, now at £197.30/ £300.00.£71.93/ £180.005

Afternoon All,
Just had my final shop for my September Grocery Challenge which was for £42.34, which gives me a monthly total spend of £211.23 so £11.23 over budget. As it is my first month in ages of tracking I am ok with it, but determined to do better in October’s Challenge. Didn’t help in that I record my tracking on scraps of paper which I mislay, so I have a designated folder moving forward.
January 2025 Grocery Challenge: £220.00/£59.47

HI all, currently standing at £287.18/£400, got a £40 shop coming on Sunday evening and then they'll be a top up during the week and another shop the following sunday. Might have to get inventive with the freezer contents as we've got lots of random bits to use up including already cooked gammon, half a bag of prawns etc.
Made a lovely orzo dish for lunch today, using 1/3 bag of orzo, a carton of passata, a tin of mixed beans and a tin of tuna, I grated some cheese over the top. It made enough for 3 meals, so have portioned it up and put it in the fridge for now. Might end up freezing 1 for later.Grocery Challenge 2024
