Allotment visited to view wind damage. Runners took a hit, so I’m unlikely to get anymore of those. Typical as I had just started picking them, plus I have never had much success until this year. Final huge bag of plums picked, plus some spinach.
Unexpected coffee with friend neighbour, which also meant that I could pass on a bag of plums.
Raining now, so washing is indoors again.
Quick bite to eat, then I have a couple of hours to clean upstairs before I have to pick up DD from work. Plus gasman is supposed to be coming to look at the stupid meter, certainly not a smart one.6 -
Badcat.. how about painting it a contrasting colour so it stands out? In the girls room we painted the sourround pearlised pink and did the insert black and highlighted the carved bit in gold... totally gaudy but looks fabulous. Marble isn't particularly porous so you can paint it with pretty much anything and it will scrub off if yo decide you want it off. I had a painted marble one and a painted slate one in here when I moved in. I'm not sure chalk paint would be very durable tbh.. maybe an eggshell or soft sheen gloss so it is still wipeable.. it will get dusty and animal nose prints and webby and need wiping.

Smalls all dried in the shed dryer.. it's a bit too soggy to be trotting down the garden now through the swamp.. there might be alligraters out there!
OH's work stuff going on a boil when he gets home.. they are greasy and icky after washing and I don't like it.. boil wash with a lemon dishwasher tablet and they will be all bendy again!
Lady messaged regarding training for the school SENCO regarding sensory processing disorders.. I doubt the lazy witch will take the council up on the free training because she is bone idle.. but it will be noted and I have a 50p bet on it! lol
Transferred £29 out of my paypal to my bank account to go with the £15 already in there... I now have... £12 available... not sure what happened there but the pending payments hasn't changed the moey has just disappeared! weirdness.

Hi again
thank you for all ideas about my fireplace, I’ve mulled it over and have decided to chicken out of painting it for now. I’m a bit worried about messing it up! I like the marble, I just don’t like the clash with the white wood surround, carpet is going in on Tuesday, I think I’m just going to live with it for a while and see if it’s less jarring on the eye after a time, definitely be going with a big flower arrangement or something there to hide some of it!
Flying today, en suite scrubbed and floor mopped, bedding stripped washed and fresh put on, some bins emptied and that’s about it.
Paid stuff should be done but I may have to go back later and do a bit more, no lunch eaten today and I’m starving so I think an early supper. DH has been ‘persuaded’ to go out and do the food shop although it’s my turn lol. I don’t want to go out in the rain!!
Have a lovely evening all x6 -
badcat.. I know you just painted the surround but does it have to be white? Maybe another less harsh colour would lessen the colour difference. I will see if I can find the pic of the girls fireplace.. maybe white for the insert and a colour for the actual surround would be better.
this is a white marble surround.

Ooh I see! Thanks Pigpen, I wanted white so it matches the rest of the woodwork in the room but that’s definitely given me food for thought... will ponder on it some more!7

Today has been spent sorting through stuff. We have a moving pile, a cs or similar pile and a return to storage pile. Abd a friend of my sister posted she was at the D3nby factory shop and I now gave a bowl to replace the one DS broke, at a bargain price!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Morning xx
Just sticking my head round the door to invite you all to join me in the Friday dance. 7.5 hours at the paid stuff then (Ma)donna is singing 'Holida-ay' woot woot.
My DSil called round last night - first time she's been (I moved in in 2003)..and I invited her in. Slowly losing CHAOS here. It's still special invitation only - but more people are being invited. I've invited a work colleague over for coffee next week. DSil just turned up - but I was able to say do you want to come in without dying a thousand deaths inside. Partly because of flylady inspired improvements (thank you Honey Bear amongst others xx) and partly because with certain people (the less judgemental ones lol) I'm able to shrug and say 'this is me - you're welcome to join me in my tip'. I always make sure they're not allergic to dust before they take a step inside. They probably think I'm joking mwahahahah.
I'm taking a staycation at home next week - my favourite place and flying will be done.
Valli - I'm well jel. I have another one moving in in the next few weeks. DS's GF has acquired a job this side of the Bridge. She will move in here temporarily until DS gets a job and they can move into their own place. I've suggested that it would be nice if they were in this 'own place' for Christmas! In the meantime I'm even amazed at myself for going with the flow....so far.
Minimum flying done due to hectic work days including early birthday celebrations because I'm not there next week. Three 'surprises' in two days...not bad for someone who isn't a big fan of 'surprises'. Who am I? And where is Roundtuit???
I will feed the birds and put the cardboard recycling out. Every little helps.
Have a good day. Get that booty twitchin in the kitchin.

It's a lovely post to read Round.
off to work this morning to prep.
hoping to get my bed stripped. DS's can wait until he's gone.
Even if they can't get their bed his GF says they're sleeping at the flat - she has an air bed. Love it!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Friday already, how did that happen.
Yesterday was spent getting necessary shopping for DD2, and a treat of coffee and cake out with a friend. Banking and insurance chores done too. All in all a productive day.
Today is packing up as this afternoon we will go to the other house for the weekend and DD2 will leave from there to go back to uni (much nearer than from here and her car is at the other house)
Last load of DD2 washing in this morning so will put it in TD so it'll be ironed and ready to pack.
Bed made, clothes picked up
Receipts sorted out of my handbag, finance sheets updated
Kitchen tidy
Better go and bring the bins in and get a move on packing what I and OH need for the weekend (3 days for us as we have Monday off - not a bank holiday here - friends from UK should have been here so OH had booked the day off.
