Evening all...one tired Dizzy here... just sitting in bed catching up on the news before (hopefully) getting a good kip.
Lots of work going on in the orchard with new chicken pens going in. DH and I have slowly been doing it, but fencing is not my strong point and DH even less so. Bought ourselves a petrol motor auger ground-drill thingy which does a very good job of digging down deeply, in a narrow column until you hit a chunk of rock...then it gets wrenched out of hubby's hands and smacks you in the face resulting in a rather impressive black eye. DH says he winces everytime I look at him. I'll admit it is bad enough that I rang my animal feed order through (rather than go into the store) and snuck round to the warehouse doors to get it loaded so I didn't have to face Joe Public.
"Orf darn saauf" in the morning delivering hens on my way, to lunch with an old friend, a playdate with Small's friend from playschool, collecting DSD, tea at my best friend's house then home again...
No flying planned for tomorrow, so I ironed 12 shirts today to compensate lol6 -
Ouch, Dizzy! GWS xxx
We have had a lovely day out with DGS3+4 at Kenilworth Castle. Good weather, free entry for kids, good food half price, grassy hills to roll down, Dragon hatching and training, jesting, and easy journeysI am shattered!

Morning all
Awake early here too, feeling a bit fragile after having a migraine yesterday, will be working but will see how I go. Flying yesterday limited to just washing and drying some towels. DH was busy with the garden and various errands.
Decorator has finished, room looks lovely. Would like some opinions though, we have a quite dated looking fire in the room that doesn’t get used, we’ve painted the mantlepiece and surround white to match the rest of the woodwork, the marble hearth and back piece (whatever you call that) is cream though so it now stands out like a sore thumb (to me anyway, not so much to DH, lol) we don’t have the time or the budget to replace the whole thing at present so I was thinking of painting the marble white... possibly with chalk paint. Anybody have any thoughts / experience on this??Time to get showered and moving, back later. Have a good day all x6 -
Dizzy ouch, just ouch xx
Well I was drifting off to sleep last night and realised I hadnt done something at work that should have been done yesterday. I was half tempted to get up and do it, but instead I laid there for ages thinking about it. It didnt make for a good nights sleep, still considering whether to a) do it late and hope no-one notices or b) confess. Either way its not the end of the world, just annoying.
Exercise done, off for a shower, brekkie and then paid stuff at home today. Blood test at 11.30am to check thyroid. DS1 also needs a blood test so will have to remind him to make an appointment.
Lots of people seem to be going back to work, I felt like I was starting a new job this week in the office, even though I have been there 7 years!!6 -
Good morning
Another stupid busy day at work yesterday, packing 2.5 people’s work into my day. Theoretically, it starts to tail off a bit soon. I came home slightly peeved to find that DH was apparently a superhero for taking in the Mr M delivery, and I still had to cook, tidy up, iron etc etc. Moan, moan...
It’s my last Thursday off before I’m back to job 2, which I am not looking forward to. I have considered that now is the time to give it up, but with DH’s looming redundancy and DD wanting to go to uni, that seems irresponsible. DD is not looking forward to going back to school next week - desperately wants to go to school and be taught (it is her last year), but not with 2000 others. Plus there is the bus journey there and back.
Badcat - piggers is probably your gal for decorating inspiration. How about making a statement with the surround, rather than painting the marble? Just a thought, sorry, not much help.
Bed stripped and bedding in wm. I’m taking DD to work shortly, then the plums will have to become jam, as I am sinking in fruit.
Have a lovely day all.6 -
Morning all,
Nice evening yesterday watching film with OH and DD2.
Still managing to keep the place tidy (not perfect but not getting worse and liveable with)
Bed made and clothes picked up
WM on
load from yesterday ironed and put away
1 load drying
And that's it I'm up to date with the washing.
Today's plan is, pick up prescription for DD2, L1dl for a slow cooker for DD1 and friends son, try and find a table top ironing board for DD2, underwear for DD2 all of which is at the out of town shopping area. Then into town for some office storage boxes and meet up with friend for lunch/coffee/cake and a visit to new dress shop that has opened.
So had better get a move on

Badcat which bit is marble, the whole thing, just the hearth, or just the back bit? personally I would leave the marble as I like marble but maybe wash it over with sugar soap to get any deep grime off it, stick a large flower arrangement in the hearth area.House clean and tidy, kitchen all back together and working!! yippeeeee. Just got to sort out the dust in the conservatory, then attack and sort out the garage..................that will be WIP, I have a gate to paint, but need dry weather and to clean it of the sawdust etc from the builders............Dizzy take care, GWSBreast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Ouch Dizzy. Hello all.
Flying yesterday was limited to just two wash loads as it was first day back at paid stuff which is lovely and busy. Today, I completed the dailies and walked the dogs before starting work at 6.30. Since finishing the first shift I have been for walk with DH. I need to harvest tomatoes in the greenhouse and garden next then actually do something from the lists.Spend less now, work less later.7 -
100 beadstrings (strings of 100 beads, grouped in tens, for maths) washed and on the line.
all scissors washed and dried.
House looks like Steptoe's Parlour with piles of stuff EVERYWHERE.
*shudder*
